Hi Everyone, I am trying to apply for a Technical Support role at Dropbox. I’m entering all the required fields but there seems to be an issue, when I hit submit after filling the form, it doesn’t submit and throws error ‘Looks like you left this blank! Please fill out this required field’ when all the fields are entered already (I have checked so many times, and filled the form from scratch several times too). So i receive a call about an interview with a big law firm in NYC that “decided to go with another candidate” just last night but this morning decides to interview me. Huh?
Secondly recruiter said that the hiring manager told her there were some typos on my resume. I didn’t find any blatant typos- I did find some capitalized words that probably shouldn’t be capitalized.

Any advise on what a paralegal in the Bay Area should be paid when they have 3.5 years experience and a paralegal certificate. Plus bilingual.

Where do you find the time to get everything done in the day when you have multiple partners, associates and equity partners that interrupt you and want things turned around immediately while simultaneously working on deadlines? I feel like I’m the only one that can’t manage a 70+ case load without letting someone down. I constantly have to say “Can I do this tomorrow?” Etc. I don’t even have time to bill on the clock. I work until 7p at least every night. Top 10 family law firm.

Mostly to vent, but wonder if anyone else has had to deal with this…my team consists of a partner, shareholder, 3 associates, myself and a legal assistant. We have a busy docket, 70 active litigation files. For over a year I have been dealing with inexperienced legal assistants, mostly coming from other areas of law. The partner relies heavily on me to clean up the messes, fix the mistakes, etc., and HR is on me for doing too much admin, i.e., non-billable work.

It recently came to my attention that I’m billing significantly more than is strictly required of me and also more than the attorneys are required to bill (and what they actually bill lol). I know that there are differences in the job description but it feels like I shouldn’t be billing so much. Debating whether I should ask for a raise or if I should take my foot off the gas. Has anyone been here before?

Hi everyone. Is it typical for the attorney to take credit for the work a paralegal does? An example: I gave some ideas about deposition questions and some observations I made (I was asked about giving suggestions) regarding a witness and the attorney mentioned that he’s the one that had these great questions/observations. Zero credit or thank you for the work I did.

Has anyone dealt with a lack of praise from attorneys? I'm not someone who needs to hear "good job" all the time, but we just got a huge deal closed that I worked really hard on and had a lot of overtime. And once it closed, the lead attorney praised the other attorneys, and said nothing about me or my work. I might just be overly sensitive, but it kind of stung. Thoughts?

How can I get in with corporate without the proper experience?

I was paralegal assistant for 2 years at a PI firm, got my paralegal AA degree, promoted to lit paralegal. I have about 10 months of lit experience. I love the experience and I love my boss for teaching me the ropes, but my heart's not in PI. I'm more interested in contract law and the transcational side. I want to be able to learn more and I feel like I need to start now.
