Coronavirus has shown how much work can actually be done from home and how a lot of travel could be cut out and reduce our carbon footprint. I know some work will always have to be in person, but we could all do with a few remote days a week!

Just to caveat this, environmental benefits we are seeing will be short lived unless structural changes are made!

As someone self-quarantining and terrified he has it due to sharp chest pain, and infrequent dry cough. I believe I can be in pain, infected, fearing death -- and still not something which is likely to infect 70% of the population right away, and that death rates are probably quite lower than it's made to seem.

To me, it sounds like her 2 points seem rational:

1) not as many people will be infected as everyone says
2) it makes sense to loosen distancing norms in less dense areas, before loosening in dense urban areas. Similarly, to redirect supply from less critical areas.

Having it yourself adds importance to it, but it need not be important to others. Especially to low risk groups.

The unwillingness of individuals and society at large to take the advice and recommendations of subject matter experts seriously. There are people who deny the damage Homo sapiens did to environment that caused a climate change and don’t give a damn by trying to change any consumption and waste habits. There are people who deny covid 19, hoard stuff and don’t give a damn about others by going out.

Both are global problems. You can argue who is more responsible for climate change to date or the spread of coronavirus but given where we are at, everyone has to pitch in and be on the same page.

16 weeks and so worried all of the stress I’m under is going to hurt the baby. Between work, my own scary (non-pregnancy) health stuff, the pandemic, my mom (who is a widow and lives alone, basically isolated by choice due to covid) is having health issues, and pressures to keep billable hours up, I’ve been having complete breakdowns. Today I spent almost the entire day crying and now have to make up the billable time this weekend. I really worry abt what effect this will have on the babe.

Hi all! So first, husband and I are both 28. I’ve been pregnant before and had previous child at 23. I was obviously way younger. Didn’t even try to get pregnant back then. Fast forward five years later, want a baby badly. I am 50 pounds more than I was at 23. And my periods are now irregular. I do get them every month which the obgyn thought was a great sign. But I’m still not pregnant. I cant pinpoint ovulation as some months my period is 29-32 days and last month it was 45. Help

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I am moving to Bangalore the next weekend, by 17th July. Seems there is a slight increase in Covid cases, would it be better to come now or should I ask my manager to allow me to come to office after some weeks once everything seems fine?

Asked for a LOA because I just got bad medical news and want time to process & find surgeons (I have to decide between staying in constant pain or being able to have kids one day). HR said it’s not a valid reason & I’ll lose my insurance at the end of the month if I take leave. They want me to use my 5 days of sick time & return to work after. I have an underlying autoimmune issue & need to save my sick days in case of a flare up. Ranting, but a reminder that companies don’t care about anyone

Been under the radar recently due to life stuff. But taking this soapbox to remind everyone that you don't have to be 100% with your diet and exercise every single day. Everyone has off days, and that's ok. Looking after your mental AND physical health is important.

So just a reminder to love yourself and to reach out if you need support!

Tell me your craziest experience working with a TV network. Here comes mine:

I'm American, but my family is mostly Colombian. I was told my aunt and cousins would come here for 2 weeks. I discovered they were going to be paid to appear in a famous Hispanic TV show, where a "judge" receives a case, hears the plaintiffs and defendants and renders a verdict. But of course, it's all fake and payed 😂 turns out she wanted me to go there (even though I don't work for that TV network) so she's sure she'll be paid at the end of the show. Wth did I just do.

I quit. I was respectful. Thankfully, every person I have told has been so nice, and I wasn't immediately bounced out by my leadership (which has happened), but I have been surprised by my own bittersweet tears. If they actually cared, why didn't they say so sooner? I gave so much, and I was consumed by this organization. I invested in them, but my investment and dedication were not reciprocated, which is why I ever even entertained leaving. I don't know why it hurts, but it really, really does.
