I currently have 10% shares in a very small f&b group owns 2 restaurant outlets.
One of them have been hit with covid and we are suffering in sales. Our director somehow don’t believe in marketing and will not budge to allocate resources to hire a personnel. Our staff are underpaid so there are no incentives for them to go beyond their SOW.
What are some of the ways to drive more sales?
If we have to raise a small round to cover the next 6 months of OPEX - is it a feasible?
Hi UK Fish, going into a promotion (from C to SC) and raise discussion tomorrow at a boutique consulting firm. Currently at 62.5k. Bonus was up to 10% but all I got was a measly 2%, slow pipeline maybe but I wasn't told why (will raise tomorrow). A recent acquisition has resulted in losing our annual xmas week off and a learning budget of 1k. I know for a fact that last year they were looking to hire SCs at 70k. Is a base raise to 75k a fair ask?
I’ve been out of work for 4 months. Does that raise red flags to a recruiter? It seemed like while I was still working and applying to jobs I had no issue getting interviews but now that I’m unemployed I haven’t gotten an interview in 2 months. Maybe it’s a seasonal thing..?
How do you ask for a raise? I know I have the case for it— I was promoted about a year ago but received a pay increase that is on the very low end of the spectrum for my market. I’ve grown into a lot more responsibility since then, manage someone under me now, and on top of that my direct boss just put in her 2 weeks and I’ve already been told I’ll have to stretch even more than I already am. Would appreciate any advice on wording the conversation!
Has any companies given their employees good raises to help with the rising costs of everything? I was a top performer and only got around 3% this last year.
Hi folks. Im working in product management for 2 years and now wondering about the value that I have created. I'm not sure how do I know that I'm doing well because whenever there is a milestones, I think it is all about others team effort (like developers, promotion campaign…)
Hey mamas! Shameless promotion post here that EY Strategy & Transactions is on a hiring spree across Transaction Diligence, Corporate Finance, and EY-Parthenon (all levels). I know how amazing working mamas are first hand so wanted to offer that I am happy to submit a referral to help your chances! DM me 😊
How to raise exit request?
How do you deal with unresponsive managers? I recently started working with one that doesn’t seem to have time. I get emails with tasking but unsure if I’m heading in the direction their wanting. When I ask to have a check-in they’re too busy too. How do I avoid have this potential negative impact? I’m up for promotion and don’t want this to hinder me.
I revoke my resignation and my unit also changed. Before 2 quarters in my previous unit they raised AST promotion. But I didn't get.
Will I get in this quarter or need to initiate newly in my current unit?
When was the last time you tried to negotiate for a raise while currently employed at your firm/company?
How did you approach the conversation and what was the outcome?
So I got an offer from a competitor of my company. Getting about a 30k+ salary increase for a lateral move with a signing bonus. The problem is they want me to start at the end of the month on March 28th to be eligible for bonuses and promotion considerations in October. Now this isn't a problem but I'm supposed to be receiving a bonus from my current job at the end of the month but have to be actively employed until March 31st. Is it worth the risk of working both jobs for 3 days to get 5k?
I have got my first offer wipro and resigned Capgemini. Cg has matched my first and asked me to stay, which I denied expecting better. So our director has asked me ask anything he will provide he also said we will give best Appraisal and promotion. I am not interested in onsite /permanent wfh. What else can I ask if at all I wanna stay back at CG
McK 🐠 will you share the details of the recent bonus/raise? We are all rooting for your paychecks
Random Thought - Do you feel Deloitte has deteriorated it's quality.
I observed following changes when I compare now and what it was 5 years ago:
1. Hiring inefficient people. Just trying to fill the role by hook or crook. Even inexperienced people are hired as managers
2. Boot licking culture. You have to be in good books to progress
3. Promotion dilution - Everyone is a senior consultant now. I remember when I joined Deloitte, sr con was a coveted position
4. Not a pay master - It used to be
Looking for people to weigh in on what I should advocate for in terms of raise / bonus next year. Well funded startup in NYC. Only IT person working to build out a very fast growing company. What would you expect to be fair? I’m around 150k with some stock options that vest over the course of a few years. We do have IT consultants that assist but it’s clearly my show to run. I’m tasked with making recommendations on anything and everything “IT”. Thoughts?
So I was up for a promotion before this corona virus happened. Is it weird to follow up on it now? Seems really bad timing and awkward to bring that up but if I should, how best can I do it?🙈🙈
Is the blacklist real? Can I see who’s in it? 👀

I recently had a colposcopy after an abnormal Pap and was told the results came back with CIN1. Risk of cancer with this is less than 1% but can't help but to be concerned. Anyone been through this?

Hi. I am currently on bench with 1 year experience (band 6A). Kind of stressed out now since I am not getting any interview calls. I have also used GOM to apply for roles. I was mostly doing support work in my previous role. What can I do to get into a project other than contacting pem and rsa regularly and doing certifications?? IBM
Hey Guys, I am a data science associate at ZS. Let me know if anyone wants a referral in any of the below profiles. 😊

Buckle up everyone, the holiday season has officially started. Time for endless carols and overplayed Christmas songs on the speakers all day long 😑
Compensation estimate at Deloitte Digital, ACN Interactive, McK Digital Labs, and BCG DV with 3 years experience in NYC, non-MBA?
Canadian IB comp check. Hearing analysts have gone from 95k–>100k (and 115k for one bank) - is this true? What is the new base salary for Associates (specifically Associate 1)? Heard they were at 135k before. Any data points are helpful.

I recently started at a new firm. I'm a female third year. An older male partner treats me like his LA and has me print things for him when he has a printer on his own desk. He makes me figure out setting hearings when he has his own VERY qualified LA. He makes me do a lot of LA work and it's quite demeaning. I've also even had an associate have me spend hours making his own hearing binder for a case I'm not even on. I get having to do grunt work at times, but I'm getting fed up with this. Tips?
I went back to the office this month (3/4 days per week) and it’s been a positive experience. Plus it seems that some partners who are going in appreciated it.
But the office is a 15 min drive away for me. Some people need to commute an hour plus to be there. Will they be at a disadvantage if they actually try to take advantage of hybrid WFH in the future?
PSA for all the non-sciency lawyers out there - PLEASE start pronouncing the word niche correctly. It is neesh, not nitch. We are way too educated to be using the incorrect pronunciation!

I would never. But I always want to.
Anyone ever been reached out to by a recruiter and had a happy ending? I’ve had a few recruiters from legal recruiting companies (not the actual firms) reach out on LinkedIn. I’m intrigued…
20+ yr appellate litigator; AV rating; SuperLawyer (for whatever that’s worth); former adjunct legal writing prof; not big enough client base to hang own shingle; next move after being on the wrong side of odd intra-firm power struggle?
Got an offer to move in-house and trying to figure out what to counter with. Salary and nearly every benefit offered is a step down from what I currently have. Would this (along with my experience & skills) help justify countering with 25-30% over instead of the internets suggested 10-20% over?
Deal lawyers, what’s your work flow look like right now? I’m not totally stagnant and still keeping busy, but this definitely is not the end of year madness that I’m used to. Curious what everyone else is experiencing.
Had a decent November/December. Some legacy matters in January. Now absolutely dead silent for the past 3 weeks. When do you start to worry?
