Do you think firms will update expense policies to allow for reimbursable overtime meals in the remote environment (rather than only allowing reimbursement for meals consumed on site)?
I’m new to investing and putting money aside for retirement. I started putting money into my 401k for the past 2 years (though I may need to increase the amount since it’s half the IRS limit). I looked into a Roth IRA but I don’t qualify- where else can I put my money? I have emergency funds already covered. Thanks.
What firm benefits do you most appreciate?
Just switched jobs. Old 401k has more than $5k and new 401k is with a different provider. Is there any reason whatsoever to move the old 401k cash anywhere, either to the new 401k or to an IRA? Given that it's more than $5k, it can stay there indefinitely, right? I'm fine with the investment options with my old 401k. And I can transfer it over to a new IRA or new 401k anytime, even years in the future, right? Given that no distribution will come to force the 60 day rule?
Does EYP have same general health benefits as EY? Was it a downgrade from before acquisition?
Having a NW of ~700K at 31 with a combined HHI of ~250K. . 1M is estimated value of home we live in , ~650K is mortgage on it. Have ~100K in the market, ~25K in cash and HYSA, 275K in 401K and roll overs. What are we doing wrong? We live in the bay area and this does not seem to be enough. Always have a feeling that we are not making enough and are poor.

I’m making about $100k a year currently in a MCOL city. I’m single with no kids, no debt, rent is $1k/mo and I’m maxing my 401k and IRA. Would I be a fool buying a $65-70k car? I’m a car guy so I already have a pretty cool car with only 40k on the clock, but have been considering upgrading. Thoughts?
How long is maternity leave at your current gig? I was just informed I can only get 8 weeks...
what are the differences between Tax Manager & Sr Tax Managers at EY as to benefits, responsibilities, job duties etc.
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
Does Healthcare companies like Anthem, Humana or United Health pay more than 160+ in their Technology group? Experienced on Docker, Kubernetes and Cloud Native world and Google Cloud certified..
My main financial goals this year were to pay off my car and credit cards (15-16k) by my birthday (December 1) or end of year. I’ve done both as of yesterday😊🎉. Thank you Jesus! I am so happy. It wasn’t easy, but whew. My only debt now is my mortgage. My 401k is only at 64k and I won’t even mention my nonexistent Roth lol, but guys I had to teach myself about financial literacy so I was late to the game. Keep working on your goals everyone, we’ll get there!
Does anyone here work at Crowe? What is the salary range for a healthcare senior consultant? YOE - 3 + MBA. Location: remote. Travel: 25- 40%. Also interested in other opinions of Senior consultant salaries at other firms. TY!
I recently switched employers. I used to have Kaiser Permanente health insurance & loved my doctors. Have been with them for almost 3 years. My new insurance isn’t so great, but because of employer contribution, it’s affordable to go that route. Has anyone paid for health insurance out of pocket? Thinking of just paying for it to keep KP, but it’s a difference of ~$200. Or just find new doctors?
Need help with a very entry-level career decision… Long-term goal: Product Management/Product Marketing for tech company. 0-1 YOE. 1: CDP Analyst at Accenture, TC ~93 with sign on bonus. No 401k matching first year, 6% after. 2: Sales for CPG (PepsiCo/Unilever/P&G), basically partnering with e-commerce platforms to manage sales and product. Easy job and we get a car on top of TC of $81K (although only 71 of that is base). I know the numbers are both rookie, but I’m fresh outta college.
Client got a fidget spinner today. So annoying
Got in a car accident and havent been sure how to deal with getting care. I use the VA and they paid for my ER visit, some medication, and a primary visit. I need to see a chiropractor but I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do since that's the only insurance I use and they take months to get any appointments in presently. It was the other drivers fault but I have to come out of pocket until care is completed then haggle w/ em. Do I wait on the VA? Just pay cash to someone local? Recs?
I’m going thru a coding bootcamp with the expectation of passing the Network+ exam in Dec19. What kind of jobs do I qualify in B4. Trying to go for the IT route. I have experience in FS audit.
Hello, I currently work in EY in tech and looking to switch to complex securities team at executive level. I have an interview coming up, and I'm wondering if anyone knows what sort of questions they ask? Is it technical or very technical? I've done ACA and CFA but haven't worked in finance, and I'd appreciate some tips about what to revise etc.
sooo.... supposed to start with 1 firm next week but got offer from another B4 for a LOS that I prefer. How do I tell first firm that I'm not coming...?
Let’s bloodbath begin Microsoft Teams vs Cisco Webex vs BlueJeans. What do you prefer to use and why?
Do you have many LGBT friends and do you necessarily care if you do or don’t? I have one gay friend who I catch up with occasionally and I think my husband has two. I never really cared either way about it, however I feel like I’m at that point where you primarily make new friends through existing ones, and they are having children and making other “parent” friends. Between that and living in a SFH neighborhood in the suburbs, I’ve changed my viewpoint over the last few months.
Digital BCG SEA, is the sign on bonus available here for expert track? If so, will it be included and offered by default as part of the offered package or need to be requested and negotiated for? Any tips or advices how to open up that conversation and any estimated expected amount? Thanks!
Expecting a baby this summer. Should I still be looking for other job opportunities? EY has a very generous paternity leave if you’ve been with the firm for 1+ years, but not sure if I would have the same opportunity to take 2-3 months leave if I switch jobs. Can I potentially work parental leave into negotiations?
Anyone recently joining PWC SDC? I heard HR is giving in writing about permanent wfh in offer letters. Is this true?
Will be putting my notice tomorrow to jump to another big 4. Background check is not complete yet, do I need to check in with new firm to make sure everything is good on their end before I give notice
Best time to move from Audit into B4 FDD? Recently started as an A1 but looking to make the move within a year or so hopefully

So, super weird question: Others often consider me the "smartest person in the room" but I love being challenged and called out when I'm wrong. Is this weird? Is there a term to describe this (other than obnoxious)? Asking here because for some reason in our culture it's super taboo to talk about how smart we are and we're all supposed to pretend we're less intelligent than we are too avoid looking arrogant or making others feel inferior.
I’m realizing I have a lot of fear—mostly related to health stuff and death. Feel like people are getting sick left right and center (not talking about covid). I’ve never had anyone close to me become very sick or die—don’t know what I would do if this happened. I’m also overly concerned about my health and seem to be at the doctor every month to get something checked. Can anyone relate or provide suggestions on how to overcome something like this?
Is it worth speaking to HR if you keep getting passed up for promotion for the past year and a half (will be 2 in October) even if all your feedback is amazing and explicitly mentions from multiple ppl that you're ready for the promotion? (Assuming you can't leave due to other circumstances)
Is it possible to knock out the CFE exam in thirty days? Trying to knock this out before busy season
