Perks??? Huh??????? What is there other than money that your firm would “offer” you ?

Remote position (planning to ask)

Perks? As an associate? HAHAHA

Equinox membership, other ppl I know get car payments, country club payments, rent, food stipends, really you can ask for anything.

*I should note that my firm is small and my boss likes to keep salaries low across the board but give perks to people who press him and negotiate.

I’m pretty positive I’m close to getting an offer for an in house ACD role at a fintech company. The recruiter said it’d be 167k base with about 61k in equity for a total yearly comp of around 228k. I’m new to equity in an offer and would love some advice on if I should negotiate for more or less on both base or equity, and what equity really means from a pro and con point of view. Any and all thoughts would be much appreciated! 🙏🏼

My firm’s IT (especially system saving and file locating function) is so bad 😐😞 and they keep doing updates no one asked them for just to mess with the stuff we already got a hang of without doing anything about the issues we actually need fixed. Anyone else in a similar boat? Do you bill the client for the time it takes to fix the IT issue (or IT inefficiency generally, like time taken to find a file in a convoluted system)? Or is that supposed to be our non-billable time?

I am a 7 year litigation associate and so burnt out on it. I want to transition to in house, but have applying and not getting traction. My experience is mostly insurance defense/coverage, and most of the positions out there seem to be for tech or transactional work.
