"the weeds" is a left leaning but they go in depth on topics like healthcare and housing. Sarah Cliff, a main contributor is a very good healthcare wonk and episodes about healthcare are very informative.

Here’s my confession - during the pandemic I got into K-dramas. Like got way too deep. Started off with really good ones with great stories and what not. But the hit kept getting weak and starting scraping bottom of the barrel stuff. Now that I’m over it I can’t stand a Korean show. The cringe is overbearing at times. Everything seems fake and is a marketing ploy.

Pretty obvious but has anyone else thought about the impact on effective comp that comes with the lack of travel, and the consequences for talent management? Banks are jacking base salaries to the moon, but our industry is barely budging.

Consider the loss of food expensing that had netted us hundreds of dollars per week. The lack of payment in lieu of travel on weekends. The rewards points/miles we’re not accruing. The tax-free nature of all of it. Is it any surprise we're hurting for talent?

I went through two rounds of interviews for
a job that the posting stated $36.66 per
hour (FP&A Analyst)…the company
recruiter had told me in the initial call the
pay could be 32-36 because of the other
benefits. If I do get a job offer what range
should I try for? I was really hoping to get
around the 36-40 but now I feel like they
may try to offer lower than what was
posted. Also there was no range but the
average for this position is upper 70s-90k.
Thanks for any help!

How should I negotiate with product base company hr to make my fixed part at least as 18LPA.

I am considering switching practice areas. I currently practice in personal injury litigation on the defense side. I have been in the PI practice in some way, shape or form for the last 9 years. However, I think it’s time for a change for me. I have always found trust and estate work to be interesting and would like to transition into that area of practice, on both the litigation and planning end of it. I am looking for guidance as to how to switch over. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
