Here is how KPMG handled an announcement today re: a RIF:
We’ll be laying off people. We can’t tell you when. can’t tell you how many people. We can’t give you any details. But we WILL send you an email after this call with FAQs and the severance policy.
...no email was sent. So, now 1,000 employees are going to bed tonight confused and irritated AF.
Do you think black people will be disproportionately impacted when the COVID layoffs come?
The acting SECNAV who fired the TR Captain was an MD at PwC and their global defense network lead. I’m embarrassed as a fellow USNA alumni. Honor, Courage, Commitment huh?
I have an offer of X lpa from TCS and another offer of X+2 lpa from Capgemini. Which is better organization to join, keep in mind the current layoff and economic slowdown situation. Thanks!
Hello helpful people,

I feel im targeted due to my ethnicity .. When I raised my concern with HR I'm being threatened with PIP.. How do deal with it? I'm worried being fired.. Where as I been on my numbers for two years.....
Given the outbreak, are places actually going to be hiring right now? Recently laid off from 9-5 and my freelance is starting to fizzle.
Stop thinking about twitter and meta people who got laid off. They are soo intelligent that they will be auctioned by many other companies like IPL and get hired. Improve self skills and be ready for your turn , we never know !

Just got laid off :(. I am in Health IT advisory. Would anyone help out with a referral to you awesome firm?
A friend was told their firm will cut ties EOY if certain things don’t improve. Friend had planned to quit in the next year anyway (to start their own business), so there is no real incentive to bend over backwards. Friend’s goal is to keep the income for a little longer, but to minimize conflict / headaches. What’s the best move here? Wait until EOY and take the severance? Give 6 / 9 / 12 months’ notice now? Is there such a thing as too much notice? Could too much notice backfire?
On Monday, after just five months in my role, I was laid off from my job at a tech company in the food delivery space. During the call with my manager and HR rep, I understood that I would be paid through the 15th. If I sign the severance agreement, I’ll receive an additional two weeks of pay. I took notes and asked questions for clarity, but yesterday I received a payment for about half my paycheck (i.e. not through 15th!). Tips for negotiating the severance package? Any chance for more cash?
Have you been fired before even starting your new job?
I signed for a new job two months ago and will start next month (3 mo notice period in Europe). They were very keen on getting me on-board ASAP before signing but since I signed the contract it has been silent from the new employee. I've emailed them with questions as I'll be re-locating to NL and it takes them 1-2 weeks to reply. Given all that's going on in the world, I'm worried they might fire me before I even start.
I recently got the news about layoffs in my company. I’m trying to be proactive and have a opportunities lined up. Currently looking for remote recruiter or HR positions. I have 5 years experience & located in the SFL area. Below is my linked in.
Do the recent 10k layoffs also mean hiring freeze in 2023 for those who have passed through the interview stage?
I got laid off today 🥲 would appreciate anyone who can help refer UX or product designer roles. 🙏
From the start of 2020 to the end of 2021, I single handedly kept our marketing department stay alive at a smaller org. Right before my boss got fired, & a coworker left the company, I was already taking on an operations role, plus my role at the time (marketing coordinator). For the next year, I would take the role of the VP marketing, a marketing manager, an operations coordinator and my role. I have since only been given a small raise (after fighting hard) and promotion & still only make 44K
You might be aware fis has laid off thousands of employees, I am also affected by it. I am on notice period till 30 December. Is anyone hearing chatter in banks/FIs about recessionary job cuts or hiring freezes yet?
Anyone ever struggle with knowing the right course of action, but having your team constantly ignore your opinions and reccos?
It's like the opposite of The Boy Who Cried Wolf. I'm warning over and over about the wolves, but it's not until they start eating our sheep that the team even cares. (Bear with me on the analogy lol)
How do you folks handle this? I have an "I told you so" moment literally every day. Should I let go and just let the team learn the hard way?
Can someone explain in simple words to me what the tax write off benefit is from selling stocks at a loss?
Has anyone been the sole in-house lawyer for a company? What did your day to day life look like? I have an opportunity at a mid size international company (~$1 billion annually) and would be basically the only in-house lawyer. I’m fine being the person giving advice, etc but am concerned that the day to day minutiae (drafting agreements, research, etc) will all fall on me. For background, I’m 20+ years out and have worked in biglaw my entire career. Any thoughts appreciated.

Hey all, I just received a great offer for an AE role at my 2nd choice agency. However, I'm still in the sample assignment phase with my dream agency and will be having a third round conversation on Tuesday (the 2nd choice agency did not have a sample assignment, only 2 interviews). I don't imagine it looks good to ask the dream agency to speed up the process, but what are my options? FWIW, I already asked Agency 2 for the timeline to have my response. Thanks in advance!
I’m new in a dual media relations/digital role. I found myself surprised to see that the digital team actually has account editing video/designing graphics. Is this normal? Before I was at a larger agency where creative would be called in to do this work. We have a creative team at this new agency so I’m not sure why they aren’t called to support. It seems a bit unprofessional as these executives are clearly not ‘pros’ in this area of designing/editing.
Hello! Does anyone know the going rate for a one-on-one media training session these days? I’m looking to work with a solo trainer, not an agency. Trainees are senior executives for a large-ish tech company. Thanks for any intel!
