Not flying

This is me. I guess I am trying to be convinced to fly. Grandparents have not seen the baby since his birth. :(

Airplanes are safe!! The filters are incredibly successful at filtering out particles. If you’re baby is small you can control what surfaces they touch.
What kind of precautions? I mean just hold your baby and keep them close to you. Make sure your hands are clean before giving them food, ensure their toys are clean. I am curious what other kind of precautions one would take.
It’s not just the airplane, it’s the airport. Think of all the people and all of the germs.
I think we’ve learned that most of the risk of covid isn’t from surface transmission but from aerosol. I think the rain cover on the stroller is a good idea.
Airport: Use the stroller and use the rain / weather protector over the stroller.
Flight: Clorox wipes - separate seat - carseat - drape the muslin / swaddle cover - business / first class if possible
It’s not perfect but that’s how I’d do it with an infant

The rain protector is a fantastic idea!

We’ve flown twice with our one year old. Rain cover over stroller in the airport, wipe down all surfaces on the plane. Mask compliance has been very high from what we’ve seen. It’s not ideal but we’re otherwise very COVID-risk averse and we’ve decided we’re okay with these specific risks.

Also we generally sit in first class so agree with the above that there is just more space, which helps.
Don't fly at mealtimes. The amount of people eating in airports with masks off is insane. Early morning is probably fine but lunch and dinner times are nightmares.

Yes another great tip!
