I interviewed for a job a month ago. A few weeks after the interview, I was told my feedback was good, but the company was evaluating all positions at the company at this time. Today, I saw the job is no longer posted, but my application is still "active" in the workday system. Anyone have any idea what this would mean? I don't want to continuously bother the recruiter.

I have a case interview coming up soon. I never thought about working with a case coach or study group that some websites offered but some people highly suggest them instead of working solo. Just finished up a PM interview process that consisted of 5 interviews (45 min each). Thought each went very well! Got an email from the internal recruiter stating the panel met and would like me to have one more 30 min interview with the Engineering director (not one of my original interviews). Turns out firm has a conflict of interest that was missed in initial check, client has been instructed to retain a new attorney, court has ordered us to withdraw and client to produce documents by Wednesday. How is it like acting for a lender on a PE financing? Is it really true that lender work develops you technically better than sponsor work?

Need some advice from my biglaw family. I’m a 2nd year lit associate. I will draft briefs and motions that I feel are pretty good and when I get them back from senior associates, they’re sometimes completely re-written. I’ve been assured I am not a bad writer and that “it will come” but the changes these seniors make are just SO GOOD. So my question is, how have people here become better legal writers? Is it just a matter of giving it time? I want to write like these senior associates write!

What is the normal level of requests per day by a Senior Associate? I am working with a senior who expects me to do everything he is asked to do via email on deals, etc. I am doing so much for this one SA (as he also peppers me with messages all day) that it is making it difficult to do work for partners. I am looking to create some balance. No one else in my group on the SA level is like this in terms of constant requests. Any advice is appreciated.

Billed 190 hours in December and felt good about that until I heard people in my group say I "slacked off" during the holidays. I hate this industry.

A partner put me in charge of a specific project that I ran independently. Things were going well. The client began asking me to do more and more, including revamping their system and internal trainings. The client even gave me a litigation matter. Suddenly, the partner became more involved. I was removed from meetings concerning the revamping, my trainings were cancelled, and he started micromanaging. He has now sidelined me from the project and trash talked me to the client. I am very upset.

UPDATE 6: BB here, sending an update from Doha. Mr. THAT Equity Partner and I went to lunch to celebrate our initial prenup redlines and just ran into Lionel Messi! I had on my Argentina jersey under my vintage Ann Taylor blouse and was so excited to meet him that I accidentally knocked over a plate of fava beans. In a flash, Messi bicycle-kicks the plate, which lands all over my outfit. Without missing a beat, he turns to a reporter and says: “That associate’s messy AND eating beans!”

If we survive this thing with our jobs, does it mean we will be expected to not take vacation for the rest of the year?
