You gotta pump those numbers up
To clarify - $400K base + bonus does not include the shadow carry I’ll get as a VP
I’d still think VPs should be closer to 5-600k TC
That’s what I would think. 400K base + bonus would put TC in the $500-600K range after shadow carry in a typical year.

That is a crazy high base to bonus ratio. Super interesting. How big is the fund?
I’m at a smaller fund and my base is in the $200s but my bonus target is ~75% of base. Meaningful carry though, also not shadow carry. I am a “partner” in the fund.
Firm is in the UMM / MF range depending on who you ask. Bonus target in my current role is 45%, don’t know what it is for VP but assume that it’s higher.
Carry is set up to replicate normal vesting in investing roles but we have lots of ops movement back and forth between fund and portcos so shadow carry makes sense. My understanding is that last year it would have been over $200K but I’m expecting a lot fewer exits over the next 12-18 months so not sure how it will shake out.
How many YOE do you have, OP?
8-9 YOE
That’s awesome. Do you guys have a team of junior operators or is it just VP ops and above?
Sure
