I honestly have no clue or experience with this but I would assume that’s way too low unless you were at the very top of the pay bracket for your last position. I would try to negotiate or interview and see what other numbers are thrown out there. Jump if you need to but 6% seems low

Lots of things can go into that figure, here are some of the firm-agnostic factors that may be taken into consideration: your position on the SC band, your performance, your vertical, your particular skillset, BD wins you contributed to, your firm initiative impact.
That's not an exhaustive list by any means, just illustrative of some of the common factors.
All that said, for someone with passable performance, I'd say the average across the industry is likely in the 10-25% range for the promo.
In other words, OP got boned?
There are many factors. What's your firm? Where are you on the pay band? If you are making 150k which is the top of the band for SC at my firm, 6% is good for promotion increase.
Not going to share the firm but in Chicago T2 going from I guess the top of the pay band to the very bottom. Just doesn’t feel commensurate with the amount my planned workload will change.
I just got 12.5% for it and from what I’ve heard from others that was good this year and average in a normal year
