It's hard to live on a staff salary anywhere

I hear it's hard to live on a staff salary there...but that's just here-say

Work at SF office. Reputation ? People still respect the big 4s here but not everyone really knows them nearly as much as LinkedIn or Google. Those are the most sought after/popular people I guess you could say

Went to SF directly after college (a year ago), you definitely will not have the discretionary income you had on the east coast but it is doable. Even more so if you live in east bay (Oakland is really awesome anyway). As far as firms go, PWC is largest and big on tech, I haven't been here long enough to know much else. That in itself goes along with KPMG 1. What's cool is there are tons of opportunity, smart people and firms know it so raises are higher.

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. If Amazon or any other FAANG/large co gets back to me, is there an acceptable way to not burn bridges with new job and accept or delay start date with FAANG? Or fuck it just hop?

I am a Senior Technical Advisor who has been working in the oil field since 2013. I have a bachelor’s in Electronics Engineering Technology and would like to transition into Tech with a good starting salary; preferably at least $150,000. I’m leaning towards getting my PMP and searching for a project management position. I’d like some suggestions for going this route or any other positions that may be a good fit for me based on my resume. Any experienced input would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve got a really good job. Wasn’t looking to move but a big 4 consulting firm reached out. I received a very generous/life changing offer. I’m so worried about work/life balance if I take this offer. Also worried about layoffs in a year or two when the market gets back to normal. I’ve got an infant and a 5 year old. I know that I can manage my current workload. I don’t want to pass up a great opportunity but I’ve got to be available for my family too!

Ex healthcare workers in Tech/Sales Engineering/ Healthcare consulting;
I have my masters in nursing/FNP (1 yr) making <K70 (Indiana) due to low patient census in my role. No desire for a different FNP job nor to return to bedside nursing (RN 5 yrs). I have heard of some individuals with remote positions making >K100 with little to no experience in tech or consulting after doing a boot camp or cert?
