Any Telus EA’s want to provide salary bands?
I have been given a verbal offer of 145k base for a Sr. Associate role as Data Analytics Lead. The offer doesn’t come with any kind of bonuses or stocks.
I have a Masters and 5+ years of exp and my current comp is 115.5k + approx 5k bonus + ~20k in stocks (yearly refreshes) which makes my total current comp to 140k.
Is it worth taking the offer for increase in just the base?
What are my chances of negotiating into a VP level role with at-least 155k?

$140-180k total comp
2 years consulting post undergrad pre-MBA: up to 180k
2 years consulting post MBA: up to 325k
$325... PE?
Talking to recruiters now. 140 -160 seems to be base offered with stocks that take it to 250. Base above that seems unheard of.
2 yrs post MBA, even from BCG I doubt 300k all in is the norm, maybe for tier 1 cities. For 2 post undergrad from MBB, all in 150k is reasonable expectation.
120-150 is what I’m seeing
What jobs/industries are 325k if you leave MBB at EM level?
Currently interviewing at two of the firms you mentioned as a Data Science Manager and general ballpark for base is 180-220k excluding stocks, all in would be 250k+ probably. 4 years exp but have a MS CS from a top 10 school.
Experienced data scientists and software engineers all seem to rake in between 150-250k all in. FANG(Apple isn't one of them for top talent) and Tesla poach heavily from each other, and salaries can be super super high even at intermediate levels if an SE for example is coming from Google Maps to work at Uber Maps team.
B2, i have heard wayfair doesn't have attractive base pay and some groups are iffy. 5yrs pre and PL level you can find 175base if you're patient.
If you can stick it out, I would suggest waiting until PL to exit, that way you are no longer an IC, and have a better precedent salary to negotiate with. Also agree on wayfair...the secret is they sell large furniture online for low margins, and go figure don’t pay a lit
OW1 - I think 300 all-in is pretty reasonable to leave as an EM, good rule of thumb would be 20% bump to current total
^That being said there may be a bit of lag as companies adjust to new MBB pay levels, so par with max PL/EM/M pay may be the more reasonable target for the next 12ish months
B2 are you a Newly promoted C? If so then agree, if you are a PL, plenty of people (if not almost all) increase their base pay when exiting
I’m a mba C2 with 5 years experience before that. Maybe I should stop considering formal channels and look at networking. Don’t want to tap into networks before I actually go on transition.
Most people I know went to wayfair and they all took a base pay decrease, right?
@BCG2
1. RE: Base salary, it’ll largely depend on the industry. Some tend to rely more on equity compensation to close the gap (e.g. tech firms, and historically wayfair)
2. What kind of roles are you seeking out right now?
