What salary range should I expect as an Enterprise Architect in the DC area with 1 year of experience? Graduated May 2019 and came on as an EA. Have the FEAC Green Belt cert. Can't find good salary data... TIA!

You’re an enterprise architect with one year of experience? That’s usually an experienced role I thought.

Yes. That's why I can't find any salary data... it's been heavy training, coming up on one year and starting to get my feet wet with client work for the last couple of months. I’m having trouble estimating my value because of this

Do roles for enterprise architects with 1 year of experience even exist?

Usually no. They brought me on as an EA and it's been heavy training. I’ve been doing client work for the past couple of months, but average pay data for someone like me doesn't exist.

OP I don’t think you are going to find what you’re looking for and I think you should look for salary expectations that are for technical analysts with your experience level. I don’t think you would get staffed in an Ea role if you went elsewhere given your lack of experience. Not knocking you, I just can’t imagine you’ve gotten the deep large systems experience that would be needed to do that work.

Thank you! I will take a look at that salary data. It's hard to estimate what I should expect given that so much of EA is based on experience lol. I totally understand what you mean and I have not seen a single other job listing that I would qualify for... I'll be locked in here for at least another 4 years. But your advice is a good lead to find some info :)

No offense but Booz is using you to low ball client work. You’re probably being underpaid, and they’re banking on your low labor cat in order to say they’re providing a cheaper EA than others who bid for the effort. Deloitte 1 was right, typical EAs are experienced roles. They typically need experience architecting infrastructure and applications and data in order to them effectively architect the enterprise.

Yes, I'm aware of why they're doing it and the experience usually required for these roles... however I am trained (and still training) and I'm doing real EA work, so I'm just trying to figure out what kind of salary is reasonable for me to expect

I don’t think federal Agencies have a lot of requisitions for architects with 1 year experience... more like 5-7.

Right... that's why I haven't been able to figure out what I should expect

I’d probably expect about $85k

Booz changed everyone's title to Enterprise Architect or Cloud Security Architect about 2 months ago. Title means nothing. For your salary, you management level is more important. Since you are consultant level I would say you will get around 73k.

I was not aware of that! I have not seen anybody's title switched over to EA like you mentioned. I've been in the role for close to a year now, so I hope I would be distinguishable from people who were in other roles and just had their title switched over at the start of the FY. My info didn't change at all
