What salary range should I expect with 2 years of client-side experience looking to move to an agency in LA? Is 2 years still junior? For context, I’ve been told my book is solid but slightly lacking in big, conceptual thinking.

Unfortunately client-side doesn’t prepare you for agencies. They’re 2 different beasts. You MAY have to go in as a junior.

I figured as much. Thanks!

2 years is still junior. If you want to move agency side you’ll probably need to do a lateral move to get your foot in the door, especially if you’ve gotten that feedback on your book. It’s good to know you can do the hardworking stuff but that can be taught, big conceptual thinking is harder to do.

Ask them who the last client was that bought big conceptual thinking? And as a follow-up, what do they do beyond TV?

Have any side projects in your book that show big, conceptual thinking?

I have one or two, but since the rest of my projects showcase more of the copy itself, I think the conceptual thinking gets lost. Definitely working on developing more spec work that’s conceptual.

I’ve been at a firm for my entire 9 year career and I just got a verbal offer for my first in house role (manufacturing company, 2k employees, privately held). The HR person communicated the offer over the phone which included base salary, bonus structure and relocation assistance. We also discussed start date and they previously sent me the company’s benefits info. The HR person specifically referred to it as a “verbal offer” and I asked if I should be expecting a written offer and he...

How do you switch groups within B4 firms, whilst navigating politics from the partners? Has anybody successfully transferred laterally to a more interesting area early in their career?

Tax - Why do my staffs never care about small/mid-sized accounts? Don’t they know that it’s easier to get exposed to higher level and more technical issues from them?

Will taking a Consulting Internship with Crowe hurt my chances of receiving an MBB of Big 4 offer? Should I instead be looking at a finance or tech internship next summer?

The reason I started in biglaw was prestige, but everyone around me is the same, and it’s toxic. I’m beginning to turn into an unhappy person I don’t want to become. I’m also disappointed to not have made the cut when applying for even more prestigious jobs (SCOTUS/COA clerkships/DOJ jobs)

Yet people envy me for my job, but they don’t know I’m miserable.

I thought this was the so-called "top", but even partners seem unhappy and desperate to make even more money than last year.

What was your 2017 bonus?

Had a really rough drinking episode this past weekend. Broke some things in our house. Don’t remember. For 20 years now, I can have 1-2 drinks and be fine 9/10 times, and that 10% I go HARD. Sometimes I just really need it, but it’s always filled with regret the next day. I really want to be able to drink a glass of wine or have a couple beers, but now my SO says 100% abstinence. Is it possible with my background and history or abuse to even try to do this anymore, or should I completely stop.

Really random question but I just moved back to NYC and am looking for Clorox/lysol wipes and sprays. Anyone know specific store locations to find them? 🧐

Any one here at HIMSS this week? Anything exciting to look out for?
