Hi All! I am an EHR Specialist for a dermatologist and plastics practice of 13 offices. Currently I provide EHR support for roughly 200 plus clinical employees (providers, a laboratory and supporting clinical staff) alone. I also manage the iPads given to all clinical staff (hardware troubleshooting repair, purchase &EHR software). I also train new hires. I currently make 68,000 annually. Does this salary seem comparable to the workload and expectations or should I attempt negotiating? Thanks!

I have 1 job offer that is an hour away and pays 45k, after negotiations (Research Associate Position at a University) .

Hi , I recently went through all the loop , HR round and final HM catch up for a Senior level role at Meta only to be not offered a role (went to an internal candidate). Recruiter was very sympathetic and offered to introduce to any other open roles I am interested in. Should I take him up on it ? I see 2 open roles very similar to the ones I interviewed for. I don't agree with Dave Ramsey on many things but there's one thing that really made sense.

He says keep your investments mostly in equities even into retirement since you can take advantage of the market while retired since you don't plan to withdraw everything all at once. You also have to keep 3-4 years of expenses in savings in case of market downturns.

In retirement, when the market is high, withdraw from the market. When the market is low, withdraw from savings and replenish. Thoughts?

I just got an offer for a PM role at eBay. I don’t have an Eng background and I’ve never had a PM title within tech, although my previous roles involved a lot of PM-type work. So effectively this would be me “breaking into” product management and finally having the title. I think this could open a lot of doors but I’m very hesitant about eBay. It’s obviously not a “hot” company right now and I’m not sure how respected it would be for getting other PM jobs in the future. Should I make the jump?

Hi all! I’ve been a PM at Capital One for around 2 years and am making $113K right now MCOL. Based on what I’ve seen, PMs have huge growth potential in salary. As I am thinking about life planning (marriage, buy a house, grad school, etc), do you have insight into how realistic $250K - $300K is six to eight years from now? I'm looking for ideas on measuring personal productivity as a product manager. What I'm looking for are quantities or quasi-quantities for how I work that will be leading indicators of the outcomes I create. Not looking for product, business, or dev metrics. I have those. Likewise, not work outcomes.

E.g.: hours of uninterrupted focus work, total and daily average. Number of client listening/reqs-gathering meetings, weekly or monthly.

I'd like to relate these to outcomes over time.

I am onstantly getting through the Hiring Manager rounds for the companies I am interviewing for but after the peer rounds with PM/Senior PMs I am getting rejected. Ine of the companies was Walmart which had 2 back to back interviews with a Group and Senior PM and I got a reject. Can the fellow PMs give me some guidance as to what I maybe missing.

I'm being asked to be involved in product pricing for the first time, and lack any knowledge or experience in that area. Any suggestions on courses or books or websites? I'm considering the Pragmatic Marketing pricing course, so would be interested to hear from anyone who has taken it.

I love my job, but I would like to work less. Unfortunately, I’m not in a position to just retire. Has anyone got experience or thoughts about how to transition out of a full time product role into something involving fewer hours?

I’m starting to search for a new position and I see a lot of really granular roles: PM Notifications, PM, Site Navigation, etc. At my current company, I’m involved with almost the entire product and I directly own 2 current features top to bottom with multiple others in the research and design phases. I can’t imagine these being full-time positions. Can anyone with a role like this comment on what your day-to-day is like?

Is it worth taking courses on PM? I’m thinking of doing Product School or General Assembly course to learn the basics. Is it worth the money and time commitment?

I see quite a few positions hiring APM pretty far from now, for example for Sep 2023. Is that a normal practice? (Not an APM program or anything, just APM or PM position).
I would like to apply to one of those but I feel like it’s a bit strange to get an offer that is a year from now…
