Yes, yes, and yes. But mostly laptop. I typically like to try and bring the team together to review and discuss. Sometimes I’ll mirror to a larger screen.

For research, prodco websites, ecreative, reps, plain old google.

I’m an agency EP, by the way, even though my title says ECD.

Ideally I review edits on a color callibrated monitor but it's a good idea to see how it scales on phone and TV screens too.

I review first to get ahead of the internal feedback, then share with creatives, then account, the client.

I’m on a team of workaholics. Currently based in central time zone and working for a West Coast client so my hours can be weird. Our team is spread across the country but I get pings at 6:30 am and people asking to call me at 8:30 pm. I’ve tried really hard to set boundaries and block time for myself but it’s constantly getting ignored and there’s no respect for personal boundaries. I barely even get outside nowadays but I don’t know what to do anymore.

Producers: myself and other freelance editor friends have a question we’re struggling with. Why do people so often reach out and ask us for holds with no information what the project is? A lot of us won’t give 1st holds without making sure it’s something we are interested in so this seems like a lose-lose for all of us.
