Hello everyone,
I am Data engineer with relevant experience in Big Data and AWS cloud of 8 years and got an offer from axtria.
I read some bad things about the work life balance there, is it true? I am thinking whether to resign or not.
If yes when should I tell them that I am not interested.Axtria

OP in europe, JK!!!
You do you, OP. I wouldn’t wear shoes that are “accepted” if they make me feel uncomfortable. Unless I was visiting a tribe or place where for religious reasons or law I needed to wear certain type.
I went in winter and rocked booties. My local friends joked that I looked more European than they did! Sam Edelman Petty and Blondo booties for rain (waterproof). As long as you break them in before your trip should be fine. I walked 25+ miles on some days!
Also a pair of super low key black Nikes is fairly fashionable/acceptable throughout Europe. I wouldn’t wear with a skirt/dress but it looked fine with skinny jeans and a sweater. Wore those on my Museum days cause it’s a lot of standing and you don’t have to care as much about looking nice
Stan Smiths, New Balances, and single color, lower profile Nikes seem to be worn by Europeans and keep my feet from screaming when walking 10-15 miles a day!
I love my Toms if I have to do a lot of walking. I hate wearing tennis shoes for anything besides working out and the gym. If it’s cold, I wear tall boots. Geox brand is really comfy and I found some really cool ones with lace up backs.
You could also try Superga - comfy when your walking a lot but not full athletic shoes. I always use them for sightseeing :)
Love me my Cole Haan Nantucket loafers, so comfy and slip on
I’ve got a pair of comfy ankle boots and a pair of oxfords that are both great for walking
Oh, and if you buy anything new, make sure to break them in before you go
I got a pair of Ecco sneakers before going to Italy. They were super comfortable but looked slightly dressier and more European than regular gym shoes
Europeans totally wear tennis shoes! Esp Stan Smiths. Have fun!
No one is going to frown upon your shoes. Sure you’ll look like an American with sneakers on, but whatevs.
I wore super comfy boots the whole time I was in Europe :), but then again, wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.
In Europe, you can go into clubs wearing tennis shoes.... I always wear thick soles sandals in the warmer months and for colder months I wear doc martens!
Op.. wear what you like and what you are comfortable in.
Thanks everyone for the input!!
Athleisure is still trendy in Europe too! Anything that has good style and not the traditional ugly tennis shoe. White or black is always good cuz they match easily and blend into ur outfit. I like Nikes, adidas, all white keds, all white converse Low tops
Try a comfy loafer from
Naturalizer or Bjorn. Something with an arch. No tennis shoes. Maybe a cute sketcher that doesn’t look like a sneaker
