Answer “why” questions about model decisions, rather than throwing things into regressions etc. Understanding the assumptions about the distributions and error rate etc. Basically be good at stats but with an understanding of applications and how to clean up data with programmatic tools like python. - machine learning engineer

What are the best reasons to go full-time after freelancing? I started freelancing a month ago after I was laid off thinking it would just be temporary but I’m really enjoying it so far. My stress levels are lower and the money is better. I have a few full time opportunities in the mix and I’m trying to gauge if I should go back to full-time or stick with freelance. I'm a first year atty. I make $45K at a small firm of 5. In the last three weeks, my assistant has been fired (caught with pot on break), another paralegal quit, and now another assistant has resigned. I have a caseload of 80, with no help. Boss says they are looking, they made an offer, but if that person accepts, it will be weeks before they are ready. I'm falling apart and crying at my desk and can't sleep. Told owner. "Hang in there." Do I walk now? Or hang in there?
