What should a resume for a 6th year lawyer look like for an in-house role? Education at the top still or experience at the top? What should I focus on in the descriptions?

Education should only be at the top when you’re in law school looking for you first job. After that firms and companies are hiring based on your work experience not education and potential. Academic excellence is still often a consideration but only after substantive work experience.

The interview happened last month first week and documentation process also completed. They have given a verbal offer, but no offer letter as there are still doing some audit and compliance on the earlier employments. They have yet not reverted. What should be done in this scenario. Is this a normal thing in Accenture where they take an inconsiderable amount of time for small things too

Any insights on what could be the issue? Is it non-traditional route or non-UK degree / exp that’s holding me back to get interviews?

Would really appreciate any advise.
Thanks 🙏

How bad does it look to future employers for an experienced attorney (15+ years) who is pivoting into a different practice area and looking to lateral after only having been at their current/first job for 4-5 months in the new practice area? I've been told by a recruiter that it's not a deal breaker because of my experience level. But many colleagues have suggested I remain where I'm at (miserable and unappreciated - just took a $20k pay cut) for at least a year.

Do you have any pointers for an associate looking to move to Dubai?

I am in my seventh year of practice. I was admitted to the bar in March of 2015. My main areas of practice are Corporate, Commercial, Banking and Finance (mainly asset finance - aviation), and Projects.

I am looking for a paying placement in Dubai (currently based in Kenya working at a Chambers, Legal500 and ILFR ranked firm that is a member of an international network of firms).

Your advice will be highly appreciated.

I am in the final steps of the interview process for an in-house position. I mentioned to the recruiter that I had unvested equity I would be leaving on the table. She said the company would take this into account and make me whole. She later asked for proof of the equity in the form of my account statement and balance, which I provided. I have not yet received an offer. Is it typical for companies to ask for this documentation if they don't intend to make the candidate an offer?
