How do stock grants and refreshers work at FAANG and other big companies?
If an offer includes $160k in equity over 4 years, you would get $40k per year, right? Do companies give a refresher each year, so that the second year, you might get $40k from your first grant and another $40k from your second grant? Are people making 4x the equity their 4th year in house if they get a refresher every year?

How many YOE
Appreciate this!! Thank you!
For an agency that's part of WPP or Publicis:
$175k in a typical COL city like Dallas or Chicago
Up to $250 in a high COL area

WPP does not do bonuses for VPs, pretty sure not SVPs either, so keep that in mind as well.
Huge range. 120-150 sounds right dependent on experience. May be higher in nyc or sf.
I second this - definitely not $250K
I’m at a midsize boutique. VPs here make $175K base (low end of the bad) with an up to 30% bonus
That’s really good. Never saw 30% bonus at an agency before. That’s what you can expect at director level in house
Typically $170k+ if you work in PR agency space, but increases for in-house roles dependent on size of the organisation. Then you are looking at $250k to $500k based on your experience, and the need for your particular skill set (also the network you bring to the business).
I just took a VP position in the NYC area for $150k because my YOE is on the lower end. My goal is to negotiate up to $180k after 12 months and I've been able to prove my value on the team
Also, I specialize in Pharma, which I've adjusted for in my salary goals and expectations (it tends to pay more)
I’m a 2nd year VP; made $153k last year in total. I feel this years total comp (don’t know bonus yet) will probably get me to $165-170k (but I plan on trying hard to move jobs next year; unless they miraculously get my total comp to $180k+ and give me a good bump next year). I’ve been busting my butt across existing clients; upselling/cross selling; actually executing on work; tackling bunch of new business work, etc. and have 14 years of total experience.
Finished the interview process for a job I really want just yesterday. Friends, it’s been a tough YEAR, and landing this job would really mean so much.
Do you think there’s anything else I can do to stand out as they make their decision? I wrote my thank you notes to everyone I spoke to…just wondering if you’ve ever done anything that helped you be successful after an interview?
Depends the market too
I live in a higher COL market, hoping to land a position in a global firm
I left MSL 6 years ago as a VP and was at $135k. No bonus.
