For those areas and with a child I would imagine you would both want to be earning upwards of £80-100k or have a combined HHI around the £150-200k mark

like

Pretty much. No less.

£2500 per month for rent will get you a nice place in those areas so that’s £30,000 per year. Before tax in London that’s about £50,000 just for rent. With £200,000 HHI you’ll live nicely but not extravagantly. Much less than that and you’ll be making compromises with a family of 3.

like

Really depends on standard of living. £80K is fine, more is better.

80k for a family with a kid living in primrose hill/Hampstead area? LOL

OP: to live a comfortable NY life I would reckon you need Atleast £150-75k . You should aim for £200-250k to be comfortable and save

like

I have HHI of 230+ and I still don’t think we’d be able to afford a decent 2.5 bed in the area. Unless you want no savings and your parents have enough for you I guess. Something nice in the current market will be 3.5k at least.

We make about 400k together

You can certainly go for it then.

Question for career/long-term clerks. Do your courts have parental leave policies? Mine doesn’t have a policy. Curious what others have or don’t have. This is not including FMLA. I mean something separate from that.

I was talking with my director the other day about how I think the US should be implementing longer maternity leave policies and generally better parental leave policies for parents who have given birth/had a partner give birth/adopted a child, and she said it was "a crackpot idea meant to push socialist agendas." Where do I even start...The countries with better parental leave policies are MILES ahead of us.

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I feel like once I mentioned my pregnancy I was in a holding pattern.

Hello all! I hope you can help me out here.

So I have been struggling to get a job/even interviews after my long maternity leave.

I would love some feedback on what can I do to improve my chances on get an interview and of course a job.

I have 9+years of experience in HR-generalist. I moved from Mexico to Sweden so I’m mostly trying to get a remoto job since I do not live in a big city. Any tips on where I can look for my dream job?

Received an offer from a top FAANG for a 250% increase in TC. However, I was initially interviewing for a position that was remote and yet the final offer does not provide that option, non-negotiable. I have a wife and 2-year-old child and another one due in 7 months, and currently live near both sets of grandparents.

Is working at a top FAANG really worth that kind of cost? I'm leaning heavily 'no' but it's not making it easy to sleep at night knowing I'm sitting on this kind of offer!

Just had my NIPT/Nuchal Translucency at 12w4d IVF pregnancy and the sonographer said everything looks fine but she wants me to come back in 5 weeks and then again a month later to do the scans again so she can get a clearer picture. She said baby is measuring slightly lower than it should, but it could be that doctors were a few days off on due date (is that a thing with IVF??). She also referred me to get a fetal echo at 20 weeks. Is this normal? I called OB, waiting for her to call me back.

Hello Fishes,
My wife worked in a pharmaceutical manufacturing industry as a QA Officer. Due to maternity complication she took approx. 2 years gap for her career. Meanwhile she learned few courses like PV, CDM, Clinical Research.
Here my question, now she want to start her career again with her new skills in CDM, PV.
1. Which one will have growth CDM or PV?
2. Does they consider earlier experience because she had a gap.?

Waiting for few suggestions and if any reference 😊

Renegotiating my contract and curious about maternity leave policies at other practices/hospitals. Do you get paid leave? If so how much time off & are you getting full pay? We are a group of about 75 employees, 6 docs with 5 PA’s and only unpaid 12 weeks off.

I’m expecting to go on maternity leave this summer, but I hate working at my current company. The work is uninspiring, the people are mediocre and I feel myself torn between quitting and finding a new job, but possibly losing paid leave, OR, sticking it out and taking mat leave then quitting. Any advice or insights?

Hi everyone, I am 4 days into my IUI process. I also recently found out that my UTI was not a UTI but instead Ureaplasma. My husband also tested positive.
We are waiting to hear back from the fertility specialist but I wanted to see if anyone has had this experience, or any knowledge. I’m nervous that the antibiotics will affect my ability to conceive, but just as nervous ureaplasma will make it difficult as well. I can wait until next month and start over but I really don’t want to. Any advice

Looking for some advice. I'm 35 turning 36 soon. After 2 months of trying with my husband, I got pregnant. We were so happy until finding out 7 weeks later we miscarried. My doctor is telling me to wait another 6 months and keep trying. Then we would start looking at fertility and going down that route. It has been 2 months and haven't gotten pregnant (after the miscarriage). I'm thinking of setting up an appointment with fertility clinic now versus waiting another 4 months. Any advice for me?
