Use applicant lab instead! Their content is legit! Super helpful and a fraction of the cost of a consultant. Also, use Grammarly. You can even pay a bit extra as needed for a person to review your essays.
Seconding this. I hired Maria for custom support to supplement what I did within the lab for HBS and GSB (not necessary but wanted a second pair of eyes!), and she was Incredibly helpful. Lab content was more than enough for the other schools that I applied to. I’d done a few calls with the large consulting services and found the lab content to be nuanced at much less cost.
You could also do a run through Applicant Lab modules (it’s <$200) to create draft content then use a consultant. Or use the Lab for the schools that your consultant isn’t helping you with. The lab can help QC the advice they’re giving you and also maximizes your time with them (since a lot of the packages are either on by-school or by-hour basis).
Got interviews to HBS/Wharton/CBS/Booth, FWIW.
Got into Top 5 school. Asian. Wrote the app starting two days before the due date. You really don’t need a consultant. 700 GMAT and a basic background. Thought I wrote great essays though.
You got into a top 5 with a 700 GMAT?
I know I’d be in great hands with both of them and their prices are similar. I keep changing my mind between them - how do I decide?!
