What should I be more concerned with... How the client feels about my work? Or how my manager on this project feels about my work? Keep in mind I have been on the same project for 18 months.

Unless the client is ready to send out written appreciation/ acknowledgement of our contributions, it is the internal EY leads whose opinion will matter more.

I would say get proof of your ideas being validated by the client and make sure higher levels of your engamemet team (dir/partner) know about the value you bring to the client. In some cases depending on your personal equation with the client, you can lean on them to put in a good word for you at the right level within pwc..that should usually do the trick..all the best!

I hate to say it but both. Usually a happy client makes a happy manager (it sure makes a happy partner). But there can be a disconnect for example if you work a ton of hours for perfection and that blows budget or overburdens others, or you burn time on things the client wants that aren’t in budget. Why isn’t your manager happy?

The client has less control of your career growth at PwC than your manager

Your manager May just be checking your though process. Part of their job.

I feel as if my manager questions my reasoning in many scenarios, but the client seems to agree and validate my thought process.

How do you feel about your work?

EY2 I feel great about the quality but as you know, that doesn’t necessarily get me promoted.

Need some advice - been at the D for a year and have been on the same implementation project for over a year. Have a technical background and am thinking of starting to look for exits to industry but also am curious what strategy projects are and if I would be interested in the work. Is it worth networking onto a strategy project at the D or should I just continue to look for industry exists and then go b school and then try for MBB/T2 ?

The long and the short of it. I was laid off a couple of months ago, the clients on the account I ran loved me. Can I hit the client up about freelance? The non-solicitation part in my severance package mentions something about a year (which hasn’t passed yet), but still I’m no lawyer and it’s mostly mumbo jumbo to me.

Back to back calls every day, unrelenting context switching at 30 minute intervals. At any given moment my only goal is to just make it through my next meeting / client call / orals. That's it. I'm literally existing in pure survival mode day after day. Anyone else in this special kind of Hell? Anyone successfully pull themselves out?

Had another AD help my CW on a brief while I was on PTO for a couple of days, and is now refusing to get off the project and letting me do my job. I'm all for collaboration and appreciate the three hours he worked on it, but it's getting to the point that he's trying to steamroll me out of my own team and project by not letting me have any input on my own work. It's starting to really impact the output and dynamics. What do I do?

For those back in office are y’all just wearing masks indoors and is it affecting the way you work? I’m pro-vaccine and masks indoors when crowded. But can’t help think it being uncomfortable having the mask on working 8+ hours and taking client calls when you could have it off working at home 🏠

To con't the conversation on engagement rings💍 - what do they symbolize to you? My BF and I got into a discussion about this last night. He views them as an investment and an "asset" on the books for his future family. He also has grandparents who had to finance their trip to America by selling their jewels. I see the ring as more of a gift to the future bride that is an expense that can be sold for money if needed, but isn't an investment. I'm fine w/ lab grown, he is not. Thoughts?
