I’d go through the team. Associates would be happy to pocket the referral bonus, can sell you up as someone good to work with (and even if you weren’t, unless you were a total PIA, $ talks).
If avoid email and go with a call, ideally with someone around your level that you had some interactions with on the deal so it’s not totally random. Then if they’re interested, you can shoot them your cv from your personal email. I defo wouldn’t do anything from work email.

I had associates from a top firm reach out to me from opposite side after a deal signing (but closing, maybe a bit inappropriate). Flattering imo, so it definitely happens

💯 reach out directly. Attorney connection works much better than recruiter. I’d cold call whoever you worked with most. They want the referral bonus, they are unlikely to say no to passing your resume along unless you were truly terrible. Wait till the deal is closed (sounds like it is already) so you’re not creating a conflict of interest.
