2nd year associate here (going into my third). Will have about 114k in student loan debt at the turn of the year. I have roughly 60k in my investment account, 45k in 401k and an adequate balance in my emergency fund. I also contribute to my HSA and will cross the threshold for investing that in January. During 0% on student loans i have been using every spare dine to pay that down. My question is should that continue or should I tone that back and start investing more? Cont’d in comments...

Senior, pregnant and worried about busy season because half the seniors in my practice quit in the past two months. Directors have said to seniors “brace yourself”. I am already stressed and high risk and off my ADHD meds and struggling a lot to get work done. Is it worth taking maternity leave early and “screwing over” my teams? I feel guilty. Doctor suggested to take medical leave if I am struggling. Need advice 😢

Back again with a question for the McKinsey folks! 1. Is it true that if you are internal (specifically PD) you are not eligible for a performance bonus? Just base and the 401K profit sharing? 2. I know McKinsey offers a percentage of your salary into a retirement fund. The recruiter painted it as a range (from 7-12%), but other fish in the main consulting bowl said it’s either 7 OR 12% (no in between) based off of if you’re client facing or internal - which is true? Daddy D is throwing around some pretty crazy referral bonuses right now. If I can hit four referrals, I’ll split evenly among all four + myself. Up to $10k per person and at least $2.5k per person. Put it in escrow and everything. So if you’re looking to change firms, a new opportunity, etc. DM me. Can easily negotiate a nice sign on bonus, and my offer should sweeten the pot.

I am due to take 2 weeks parental leave sometime in the next month and have an offer lined up. Is it better to tell the new place I would prefer to push my start date to take my leave and join two weeks after (accounting for 2 weeks of notice when I get back)? Would that be burning a bridge with current firm (taking leave and giving notice as soon as I am back)? I want to avoid losing 2 weeks of salary during that time if I can.

I felt I was designated as the scape goat. Continued.
