7% 401k match. Free snacks and drinks - as well as happy hour beer / wine fridge - in most offices. Annual lounge fee can be expensed. Liberal expense policy (at least in the pre-Covid travel days). Those are the first that come to mind. Pretty solid overall, though clearly not as good as MBB (e.g., free healthcare in the US).

It’s pretty good actually!

Profit sharing is a very nice perk, especially if you end up staying longer term.

Expense policy for meals used to be insanely good pre COVID

A more work related perk is that the firm is very global and flexible across regions - it means that just about anything we do is technically open to me if I want, regardless of whether my office or area has clients in that space.

Based on working here - the people.

Based on what I hear from others - flexibility. I can live anywhere in NA and still get paid the same. I don’t deal with a per diem when traveling. The red tape is dependent on your project team more so than the broader firm, which means your working life is very depending on how well you network into a good “flying formation”.

How does your recharge days work? Are they predefined across the year?

They change per region and are a relatively new benefit. Probably here to stay but there’s currently no announcement that they are permanent. Each region decides which days to do, a bit spread around the year + days people would want off. Globally, they only decide how many.

Asking for advice: Hi ladies, how do you tell your SO that you want private time with your friends/colleagues? For context, my SO and I have been living together for 2 years. He doesn’t have a lot of friends and is a quiet type. His current friends are all our mutual friends. We do enjoy spending time just us two a lot, especially during this pandemic. However, I do have a group of colleagues/friends that I’m close to and usually prefer to hang with them seperately. (cont. in comment)

Need some advice! Should we update our wedding start time to 4pm so we can have our after party 10pm-1am instead of 5pm wedding start and 11pm-1am after party? We sent wedding invites with a 5pm start time because we have 6hrs at the venue and the bar around the corner said the after party had to be 11pm-1am. Now bar said thee after party can start at 10pm. We can realistically contact all who RSVPd yes to let them know AND a 4pm start time means we still have daylight (it’s a winter wedding).

Currently struggling with lack of motivation. I’m in my 3rd year at my firm and when I started I was hitting 9+ billable per day before I left the office. Now, the saying: when there’s no consequence for poor work ethic, and no reward for good work ethic, there is no motivation” hits home. Over the past two years I’ve seen the opposite of indispensable employees. Yet, they sit at the same table as I do and make more. Any advice?
