Are there any agencies that have not gone through any layoffs, furloughs or pay cuts, hiring freezes etc? Shops that are, so far still financially functioning as normal? I know squarespace is one.
Negotiating comp and hoping to source some advice, 9 yoe most recently pivoting from consulting to a pre IPO tech co. Their starting offer was TC of ~300k, does this sound reasonable or should I be negotiating harder? Finance & strategy role
Marriott loyalist here - seems like almost everyone who is salty about the merger were previously SPG folks. True?
Would you sign an Income Sharing Agreement for 5% of salary paid over 6 months if you got the job and salary you want?
Any males here get an MBA from an M7 university? If so, would you mind sharing your GMAT score? I know it's just one data point in an overall story, but I'm trying to get reference points from peers.
Thoughts on making a move as a Exp SC or waiting until likely Manager promo at YE 2021? Non b4 advisory role with bulk of exp in Internal Audit and SOX. Have tried to get staffed on more diverse projects with little success over the last 4y. Pretty disheartened with current trajectory and project work. Any advice appreciated.
Let’s see how entry level accounting salaries have increased (or not) over time. I started in September of 2014 with a mid-market firm in tax at $53k in a non-HCOL city. Your turn..
Simone Biles showed the world that there’s no such thing as the wrong time to prioritize your health and safety. It might be inconvenient and costly, but it is never wrong.
OMG. This toolbag is clearly Of The Big 4 Tribe, but apparently travels with an actual fucking guitar (!) and is such a precious flower his rollaboard is longitudinal to the overhead compartment.

Desi Consultants!! - who all are thinking of hiring Sima Taparia (after watching Indian matchmaking on Netflix) for finding your future significant other?
Hi tax 🐠, I have a question for those who prep individual tax returns. My parents claim my grandfather as a dependent on their tax return and due to their low income, receive PTC for the premiums they pay on his insurance (not eligible for medicare). However, would it be advantageous to have him file for his own tax return (he stays with my parents and doesn't have his own proof of residency via bills). If so, can he get PTC if his income is 0?
🐠🐠 Wondering how you'd perceive a person in a C-Suite or leadership position: - typically a smooth talker - acts like he was struck by lightning when things don't go his way, though it shouldn't have been a surprise - claims to have low EQ when he causes misunderstandings, yet doesn't take action to resolve it, or get help to raise his EQ - says he doesn't know anything about current events (or ones from a few years ago) or keeps up with news because he only has Netflix, no cable & such
Roll off is in two months. CAL is asking why I don't stay for next phases. Client loves me, work is interesting etc. but I hate working with the PM. He's awful. Would you say something?
Novice question - are formulas expensive - can someone give me a ballpark for a good organic formula? I am pregnant with my second and don’t think I can manage a toddler and go through breastfeeding with a new born all by myself. Also open to combo feeding ideas where I breast feed during the day and formula during the night if you have done something like that.
I’ve been living in my parents basement during COVID and it has relapsed my anxiety/depression. I decided to go back to where I actually live (NYC) and my parents are helping me move. We have it planned to be as careful as possible with Covid. Tonight my brother sent a mean text to me saying I was being stupid and irresponsible. His concerns were valid but his text was extremely harsh and mean. Now it sent my anxiety off the charts 😩😩
Fishes from price, kpmg, Deloitte. It’s that time again. Bonus percentages in consulting. Please share for level, rating, bonus percentages please! EYs will be released in 2 weeks.
Need advice and pep talk because I’m certain I have chronic imposter syndrome :( Background on me, I have about 6 years of work experience post college but have gone through many companies because of layoffs and/or reorgs. With that, I’ve bounced a lot with different industries and have done different roles for a year max. My current role is about to be my longest (thank goodness, hitting about 2 years) but I feel like I’m not a SME in anything but I feel embarrassment for myself (Cont.)
