What specific responsibilities do "team leads" have in your org? For example, are they project managers or take on more admin tasks for your team?

In my experience, "Team Leads" are primarily responsible for coordinating the work done on the project, making sure everything is getting done, done correctly, etc. They own the project team but are not managers and do not have "manager" responsibilities (e.g. budget, hiring/firing, etc.).

I have been a team lead a few times. It is great role because you can drive the strategy on the project. However, you don't have real 'power', and if you have difficult people on the team it can be a challenge. (On one project, the manager for a couple of those on the team would supersede my decisions, undermining my role and making my job a lot harder.)

like

Lead: make sure job done , done right(quality control).

Manager: people management (budget, timeline, etc) which no responsibilities on job quality for deliver.

like

For big corporate, director manage multiple lead.

Summarize:
For most company director will manage multiple lead, senior manager will manage multiple managers. They both are from different perspective such as quality control and people/money/timeline control.

For small company sometimes they combine both role into one and also the team would have less people. Once the team grow big then they will bring both role official.

I have 4 years experience in the state government in data analytics and database maintenance for a financial services organization. I’m not having much luck with Business Process Analyst or Project Coordinator roles. Any tips? Thanks

1. Don't apply with only 1 resume. Tailor your resume based on the industry (e.g. e-commerce, fintech, etc.) & Companies (e.g. Amazon, Google, etc.)

2. Read the job descriptions & responsibilities. Check the repeating words & phrases...then use those when you're tailoring your resume. Why? Lots of companies (esp. biiig onez) use ATS and it filters ones that match their JD. Resume is a tool to knock the company's door. So knock them well and with strategies!

How much would you charge for this freelance opp? : Give a major visual facelift to a boutique media company’s (in-house) “this is who we are and what we do”/ new business pitch deck (PPT)? —— FYI: Roughly 40-50 slides tops. Doesn’t look like they have a set Viz ID/toolkit to follow, so would have to incorporate basic art direction into project in addition to prez design execution.
