Looking at leaving big law for a small boutique (I would be attorney 3). Current firm offers 16 weeks paid parental leave; small firm is 12 paid. Is 12 reasonable/enough?
Help!! My husband and I are about to move to a new state bc I got a new (and significantly) better job, and we were planning on moving at the end of the school year as do not disrupt my stepdaughters pre school (she ends in June). Her previously uninvolved, biological birth mother just served my husband papers saying she wants visitation again - she “stepped away from being a parent” at the start of COVID when she was arrested for attacking her then boyfriend’s wife. I’m having serious concerns
Parents, what are you doing for college funds? I want to start saving for my kid and don't know where to start. Do you recommend a bank over the others for this matter?
First day back on the job after paternity leave. Never had a harder time leaving the house than this morning...
Has anyone figured out anything creative for a baby shower in a pandemic? Is it still okay to send out cute invites for a virtual one??
Moms, I need advice. I’m one month in at D (previous consultant, spent last 5 years in industry as a leader of leaders) and came in at Mgr - and I *hate* it. I’m 13 weeks with our first and mat leave was a huge factor in coming to D, so feeling trapped. I spend more time dealing w/ asshole client SM (not my project SM) than doing work. My coach is great, but her advice was basically, “D is full of assholes 🤷🏻♀️, get used to it.” Is it too soon to leave? Especially pregnant? What to tell recruiters?
MOTHER OF ALL BOMBS
We recently had a child and now looking to do some recurring investment to secure his future (higher education, marriage, medical etc), looking to withdraw 15-17 years down the lane. What type of investments do you suggest which are good from long term perspective for kids ? Or investment for higher education fund!?
Not pregnant yet but curious how pregnancy impacts performance, if at all. If all goes to plan I’ll have my first trimester over busy season. Curious how that goes and if any slack is given if pregnancy symptoms are bad
When you had your first child, how old were you? What was your household income and net worth? Did you feel ready financially?
Did he ask Mother before doing this?
What is a good suggestion for a weekend mom-baby/toddler date? Reconnecting with old college friends with toddlers/babies. Not sure what to suggest. Brunch? Morning walk?
5.5 months pregnant. I’ve been having some insanely vivid dreams about breastfeeding my future baby. Weird
Chem classroom social media. Do you use it? I have recently started and had a lot of success this year in terms of student and parent engagement. Please feel free to follow @johnstonchemistry on IG
I’m quarantined w my aunt, uncle, brother and cousin at the moment. I show that I’m really happy all day but every night before I go to sleep I cry like a baby. Sometimes even during the middle of the day I take bathroom breaks to shed some tears. I don’t know who I’ve become and why this is happening - I lost my job and am dating a boy who doesn’t seem to care about me. Some days are better than others and that keeps me going.
Which firms have the best maternity/paternity packages? Do any cover some of the cost of surrogacy? I have a medical condition that would make actually carrying a child dangerous, so wondering if some firms offer help in that area (I’ve heard of some covering IVF costs).
Very niche but freelance moms in the UK - is there a way to get (federal) maternity leave benefits?
Ladies, I know Deloitte has 16 week parental leave. What’s the policy for your company ( BCG, Bain, McKinsey, PWC, Etc)? Thanks.
Potentially interviewing for an Accounting Information Science position with Deloitte. Anyone have feedback about the AIS day to day and work life balance? Thanks!

For those in smaller high growth tech companies, where do you turn for resources on org development, engagement, trends, etc.? I’m moving from a large tech org to a a 150 person company. SHRM does not seem relevant at all. Podcasts, social media followings, etc?
New to implementations but got stuck managing/doing configurations. I’m not the PM but I deal with engineers and client face almost every. Best book for this type of role besides the Phoenix project?
Everyone complains about b4 salary…but don’t realise that if you make partner…salary will never be an issue
I have worked in the HR space for the past 9 years, however most of my experience has been in Talent Acquisition. I do want to move into a People Operations/Generalist role. I’m planning to go for a HR certificate but unsure if I should go for a PHR or SHRM. Please advise!
Just transferred firms and I feel like a failure. I have no idea what’s going on in the project, feel like no one likes me, and I’m not doing a good job. I feel like just going back to my old firm.
We are hiring for Fall Product Manager internships. I work at a productivity startup in Boston. Feel free to send me a message for more info.
Moving to NYC next year, and my SO is based in Seattle. He is very keen to spend more time with me in NYC, even suggesting living there while remote working is still a thing. I’m a little hesitant bc we’ve only been dating for 2-3 months and it would feel like moving in tgt. Also not sure if i should be looking for a studio or 1br for more space but at a much higher price tag that i have to pay for. Any thoughts?
How good/bad EY is, when it comes to supporting immigrants with GC, I140 process. A special shout out to American Airlines for the app update right as I am boarding, locking me out of my boarding pass. Go ahead, I'll wait. Who needs overhead bin space anyway?
Was going to miss a connection due to a delay on AA. Instead of the red eye alternate that they recommended, I chose one with an overnight stay. Is AA supposed to provide a hotel/meal?
Given the hot job market, do ya’ll desi fish get inundated with messages from recruiters on LinkedIn? Somehow I have not had even one reach out outside of some boutique firms. Wondering if we are being ignored because of the whole visa thing.
Is there anybody here that has started back to work with students in the classroom? If so how many days and what state? Thank you.
