I just got an email from a recruiter from Google!

He said that the position is in the Bay Area or New York. I haven’t replied the email. I don’t think we can move to those cities, but I don’t want to lose this opportunity. Does anyone know if Google does remote jobs within US?

As the Owner Attorney of a small firm, I have the office hours set at 9 am -5 pm. How flexible that can be depends on staff availability (we are really small - fewer than 10 total employees) and seniority (i.e., my Associate who has been with me 5 years has more autonomy than the one that started last month and is learning how we do things). Generally, though, as a boss I don't give a dang when people work as long as they show up for their court and appointments and get their billables and tasks done. If someone is a vampire and can draft quality work hanging upside down in their closet at 3 am, I'm not going to question it. ;)
I like your style!

I usually check my email around 8-8:30, but if nothing’s on fire, I’ll wait until 9:30 to sign on if I WFH.
With all the extra time getting ready and commuting, I usually don’t make it to the office before 10:30-11 on the days I need to WFO.
But I’m also the kind of person who regularly works late into the evening (like I’m usually signed on until past 10 pm and regularly work until 1 am). And on crazy weeks, I’ll start a lot earlier in the morning (like 6-7 am).
I’d really prefer to be a morning person. I’m just… not. It takes me like 2 hours to be functional when I wake up in the mornings.
I’m the same. I would do anything to be a “morning person.” I’ve just had to come to terms with the fact that my circadian rhythm is just off. I get me best work done in the evenings. It takes me alllll morning to be a functional human being. Ugh
At home, I start between 9-9.30. Office usually between 9.30-10.

10ish. NYC. Currently in bed.

10ish
I’m guessing these answers are largely divided by who has kids and who doesn’t. Before I had a kid, my workday started around 10 am and ended around 8 pm. Now it starts around 7 am and ends around 4:30 pm.
I drop my son off at 7 and am at my desk around 7:30. I like to try to leave around 4:30.
Usually around the same time as the comment above.

I start my law day between 7 and 8. Finish between 3 and 4 unless I take a mid day nap.
What do you do?
In-office: I am at my desk 7:30-7:45. I grab coffee and look at my to-do list or read news, and usually start billing around 8:00. I leave around 5:00.
Between 9:30-10
Usually 9:30/10 am to 7:30/8 pm (in office). I go to the gym before work every day so sometimes it ends up being closer to 10:30.
Same. I wish I was more of a morning person but this is what I do.
When we had to go into the office, the associates on my team showed up notoriously late. Like 10:30-11am. But we stayed late too. None of the partners complained bc we got all our work done.
6-4 is the goal. With a lower billing track, I can bill enough to take some serious vacation time, or take fridays off, etc.
I get into the office between 8:15/8:30 but then I normally grab coffee and read some news. I typically start actually working around 8:45/9. Then I stay till 5/5:30. More recently I’ve been staying till 5:30 to avoid some traffic.
Some days, like today, I’ll wake up early and work an hour or two at home first. Then get ready and head into the office. I hate being at the office super early when I’m the only one in, so working a bit from home is a good option for me.
Our office is open 8:30-5 technically, but some people are in at 7:30 and leave at 4 and the partner typically doesn’t come in until like 10/11. It’s all over the place.
This seems like a short day.
Start around 9ish, and usually end my day between 5-5:30. I work from home

I’m a 10ish person as well. US prevailing Eastern time. People out west seem to get up a lot earlier.

It’s cuz we have to work with people on the east coast. When I’m not working outside my time zone, I trend later in the morning as well.
8:30 if wfh and 9-9:30, usually closer to 9:30 when I’m in the office.
I’m wfh and I sign on between 8-8:30 usually log off around 5pm
Check email when I wake up around 7. Only respond then if I need to. Regularly wait til 10 or 11 to actually get going if it’s expected to be a slow day. Start around 8 if it’s gonna be a bad one.
Only had WFH for a month in the beginning of the pandemic. Up at 5 to go to the gym and walk the dog. At my desk by 8:30. Leave at 6. Yayyyyyyy
