McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Hiiii! I’ve been at my job for a year and a couple of months now & I’ve gotten rather bored because the work is repetitive, not challenging, and hasn’t really allowed me to learn or grow as much as I would’ve liked to. Given how I’m still paying a ton of money for my postgrad in Business Comms (that I haven’t really gotten the chance to use), I’ve been thinking of entering the world of consulting. Any word of advice? PwC McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group KPMG

Period 2 and 3
Agree, 2nd and 3rd period are the sweet spots. Everyone is awake, no one is bored yet.
Pro
In the morning! I’m not fond of after lunch class-that’s usually when the aftermath of recess problems are present.
Periods one and two are the best for me sometimes I like the kids to be just a little sleepy because then the behaviors are cropping up.
I think it really depends. The best classes I have had were just before lunch or right after lunch. Before COVID I used to allow my students to eat in class, so this might have an effect.
Right before lunch and right after lunch were my worst. Right before lunch they were hangry. Right after lunch they were all amped up FROM lunch.
Been teaching HS for 6 years and I always think the middle. A 3/4 period because the morning (1/2) we’re all still tired and they are not participating, if they are even there. While the afternoon (5/6) they are ready to go home and over school. All classes have highs and lows, but for the last 3 years my 3/4 period has been the most engaged, I’m been the most lively, we all are in the swing of the day by then, and it always feels fun. But then there are days where that class drives me nuts…
I can tell you my least fav: 3rd period (around 10am). Every year that I get that period, they drive me into the ground :(
My best usually 6th (around 1:30). They're in a good place, work-wise and personality-wise.
Yes! Once I had a 6th with around 20 kids (class average at our school is around 30), and oh man... it was a beautiful group. Intellectual, creative, overall great great great :)
I’m at my best first thing in the morning. I’m one of those annoying morning people. But my most involved classes are usually right before lunch.
Rising Star
10-12 seems to be the most productive time of the day for students.
Around 10:00 am
My best classes have always been my first mod classes. This past year my fourth mod was also amazing. These are the only students I didn't have immediately after they left math, which seems to stress my struggling learners out and put them in the wrong mindset for learning.
