One final note: Not all shops give juniors the cool assignments. You often have to earn your keep by doing the grunt work. Wherever you go, just do the best with whatever you're given. Most likely, you'll start working on print ads (or digital banners), then work your way up to radio/TV. The fastest path to stardom for young Creatives lately seems to be social-media stunts.
@OP, 6 months isn't really enough time to warrant passing you the best creative opportunities. You're feet aren't really wet yet. Do the best with what you get and spring on chances to help or work on stuff you think you can make stand out.
Please note that I accidentally Swyped "ass agency," inadvertently making a bolder statement than originally intended.
This is a boomerang industry. If you're not getting to stretch/grow where you are, go to the other spot, shine, and then go back and make bank later
A few years in Austin never hurt anyone.
Ass agency
Go where you can make stuff. People look at your book first and CV second.
Yep. Call them back and talk to them. You're not going to derail your career unless you job hop every 6 months for a few years.
Tons of awesome responses btw, thanks everyone
What Top 5 Agency doesn't appreciate copy? Is it an ass agency? Always better to go where you're most appreciated.

Talk to them. Sometimes these contacts are just seeing what talent is available. They may not even have a real job opening. One thing that can detail your career is staying at one shop for too long, especially with nothing to show for it.

I wouldn't turn GSD&M down right now.
They're hot- some serious spend $$ for their clients- more opportunities to get your work out on a big level.
Walgreens , southwest,
Those are the 2 I know without looking at their website- unless they've lost them- but I'm sure they have other big accts. Too.
I'm gonna guess you're either at RGA or a similar shop. The question is did you not produce because your work didn't make it to later rounds or because you weren't even given the opportunity to think of something cool. If second then bounce.
Also in general, always go for the interview. It'll give you an overview of what your current worth is and what's happening in the industry.
