Hi All, I have 1 YOE and I recently applied for Junior Software Engineer role at EPAM which I think is a fresher role. I applied because I am not happy with my current tech stack and is difficult to switch on the basis of my current stack . Also, the CTC which EPAM has in it's JD is less than my current CTC. I joined as L2 and within 7 months got promoted to interim L3 and became permanent L3 in another 6 months.
It's been 2.5 years i am still L3. I wanted to get promoted as L4 but the competition is very high.
So i wanted to switch by learning some skills but i am in a dilemma about what to learn

In interview I was asked questions about API testing( Rest Assured) repeatedly and even in JD it was mentioned.
I have hands-on Rest-Assured but no real work experience neither in framework.
My skills are Selenium, Cucumber, TestNg.
So when I join this new Company if they put me into API testing how will I manage.
Also thinking of learning in-depth in API testing.
But there is also a chance that I might not get API testing at all.

How should I handle this dilemma.
Please suggest.
