I had an interview with Edward Jones for an IT position. The interview felt off. It was a weird format and there wasn’t a lot of organic discussion. I had red flags popping up all over the place. Ended up getting offered the position which pays insanely more than my current gig but I’m concerned about the spidey sense I got during the interview and can’t shake it. Anyone have any feedback on the company’s culture wrt innovation, technology strategies, or just overall advice? Thanks!

Hello fellow cyber warrior...didn't know bcg did tech work is this new? McKinsey is building it up in digital if u want technical and BTO for security strategy
Our TA is the corresponding unit to BTO at McK. Only practice that does their own staffing.
@Deloitte OP: We have a generalist model. So up until Project Leader (sometimes even Principal), anyone can get staffed on any type of case - strategy, marketing and sales, corp dev, turnarounds, cost/org etc. Tech Advantage (as you'd expect) requires more specialization so they have a separate staffing person (everyone else does it by office/region) and staff from within their own pool (generalists are generally welcome to join though)
More or less the same as the rest of BCG (which I think is an absolutely special/awesome place). I know a couple of folks from the TA practice. Both are extremely nice (and more laid back than the average BCGer). One of them might be my favorite principal in our office
@Accenture 1: Same as "regular" BCG. You can stay all the way to Partner without getting an MBA if you'd like, but more post-MBAs because: (a) We have a diamond structure so most of the recruiting (non-lateral hires) is done post-MBA, (b) For those who start out of undergrad, it's paid for - so a good chunk end up going for an MBA (not required though)
Kinda new. From what I gather, it used to be called IT Advantage but in 2014 it was rebranded Technology Advantage. I think this is a link to their capabilities (no mention of security) https://www.bcg.com/expertise/capabilities/technology-digital/solutions.aspx
I've seen a good amount of public info about McKinsey's cyber capabilities. Don't know what group they sit in though.
Business technology here's a link to the req, it says DC but u can be anywhere https://mckinsey.secure.force.com/EP/job_details?jid=a0xA00000095UQ7IAM
Yup. I've seen that. Found a req for TA (old) as well. http://www.bullhornreach.com/job/1899008_technology-advantage-consultant-project-leader-usa
@bcg1 what do you mean they do their own staffing? Where I come from each group has their own staffing person.
Ah. Ok. That makes sense. Thanks BCG2. Any impressions on the culture? Anything that sticks out?
Do TA typically have MBAs?
How many years have you been at BCG? Trying to figure out if this is the honeymoon phase. To be honest tho I haven't heard as much complaining from MBB folks as big 4.
In my 3rd year (pre-MBA). Heading to b-school in the Fall :) Def. not honeymoon phase (interned at two other firms before this - really just found BCG to be a great fit for me)
Cool. Thanks!
