Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad
Based on your experiences working at or interacting with MBB, what notable differences are there in their culture/people, work, and work-life mix?
Do you think it’s better to go to immediately go a firm that’s beyond your skillset or work your way up to that firm? For example, going to a T2 firm as an experienced hire having never done consulting without or starting at a smaller consulting firm and then going to T2/MBB?
For data science exits does it go something like this? Any industry players I'm missing? Have been in process with all and currently in process with all but one and trying to prioritize. VC (supporting investing with tech expertise) > Hedge funds > FAANG/high growth startups >> lower tier unicorns >>> MBB
Any MBB A/C/M/SM willing to connect and have a quick chat? Looking to make an experienced hire transition from Deloitte S&O, would appreciate any insights. Thanks in advance y’all, seriously.
How do I get MBB good @ PPT? I’m a staff 2 in consulting & have only had long term projects; teams rarely used decks. I know ppt well, so the Q is more directed towards designing pretty slides.
Okay… all kidding aside, is there anything positive about KPMG? The internet and social media makes fun of them. My leadership makes fun of them. Other big 4 friends make fun of them. MBB makes fun of them. Do they do that bad of a job + have that many shady things going on?
Quick Q for y’all. Im having trouble finding cases that match the level of difficulty that I experienced in my BCG interview. Anyone know of a good repository for MBB level cases ?
Considering consulting post-MBA and targeting MBB/Deloitte. What are pros/cons of being a post-MBA consultant at one of these firms?
How's MBB in Malaysia?
What’s a typical MBB exit for someone with 1.5 YOE at MBB? In terms of salary for strategy roles. I’m thinking ~130?
What’re mbb staffing models like? I heard bain was moving to more regional. This true across the board? Mck and bcg global/national/regional?
MBB recruiter said I'd hear about my application (whether or not I'd get an interview) by today. haven't heard a word - what should I do? I'm thinking of sending a gentle reminder tomorrow morning, but definitely don't want to look pushy
Does stint from MBB or consulting in general really helps to get a notch higher than otherwise? I have seen many exits in which the opportunity would hv been available even without the consulting exp
Discussion post: I feel almost all consulting firms are the same. Mbb, big 4 etc. if you are paid enough there is probably less wlb. If there is good wlb there is not much money. Can you single out a company that you can confidently say pays very well and also has good wlb and also has good opportunities etc.?
Do any of the MBBs consult for FAANG or top tech companies? Or do all those companies exclusively use in house strategy teams? If any MBB does, a referral would be much appreciated
Looking for a referral in consulting. Anyone who can refer me from Big 4's or MBB or any other tech consulting firms? Can DM you if you are willing to provide me a referral. Thank you!
What is the salary range for Senior associate 1 and Senior Associate 2 at PwC SDC in research role? What expectation should we put forward to HR.. Experience: 4.5 years in Research and Consulting prior experience in Big4 and MBB
I was offered a job at a big 4 firm l as an A2. Office is local. I’m currently an A2 at a mid-tier firm. It’s great & the culture is great. However, I was hired to be fully remote. It’s been only 4 months but I regret it now because I can’t do culture activities and really miss people and the office environment. My dilemma is I like my current job & firm but fully remote is very hard, has its cons. At the same time, I never imagined I’d get hired by a big 4 firm, plus resume building. Thoughts?Deloitte
Any idea about potential Facebook/WhatsApp Program Manager salary? (YOE 12 year with 5 years of consulting experience)
Can someone in CPI explain what raises/bonuses look like for an analyst? I’ve heard year 1 raise + Consultant promo raise in May. Is that the case?
If you hand in your two weeks exactly two weeks prior to a bonus payout, does that mean you still get your bonus on your last day? How common is this in consulting?
When you are switching firms, what do you care about? What kind of questions do you have? Do you ask about where the company is going and what strategies they are taking? How do you ask about culture? Do you ask about happy hours or team composition? What matters to you other than compensation and WLB? I’m trying to be a more curious person, and not just focused on the money
What is your age and how much do you have saved across accounts? How much do you think you need to have saved to retire and at what age do you plan to retire?
General Bay Area housing question but looking to move my family up in early 2022 timeframe for my new job at Apple (Cupertino). Wife and I are early to mid-thirties and would have 2 kids by the time of the move (toddler and a newborn) along with our cat and dog. We currently have a 3 bdrm house in North County San Diego so would be looking for something of similar size (at least bedrooms wise). Any recs on where we should look for a rental with good school districts and good bang for our $$$?
I may be transferring from Deloitte Advisory to Deloitte Consulting. Will I technically be resigning from Advisory (e.g., cashing out PTO, paying back bonuses, etc.) or carrying over?
