How do you navigate getting a referral on a platform like this? Genuinely curious on if HR/Recruiting asks how you know the person you're referring, or if they don't care where the referral comes from.
Really interested in a junior PM role at Razorfish. A close friend currently works for a different Publicis org, so not sure if a referral from them would mean anything.
I applied for some senior positions at AbbVie online 2 weeks ago. The status appears as “resume received” for some positions, status of one position appears as “under review” while another position shows “in progress”. Any idea how long their hiring team takes to get back following the application?
Does anyone at Rutgers know where I can find a flexible part-time job for students on campus? I only found two campus positions on handshake and haven’t heard back from either yet. I feel like there has to be a lot more out there than what I’ve seen on handshake
Something similar to the digital classroom support specialist or tech help desk would be great. I consider myself tech savvy

Introduce yourself
Explain who you are in a few sentences (education, locality, desired career)
Explain why you are contacting them
Ask if you can chat or keep in touch or if they have any insights or connections for you.
If you have a niche skillset, or one that's applicable to roles or requisitions they're currently working on, they're going to want to do an intro call with you anyways. Just introduce yourself and be polite.
Make sure you have all transferable skills listed on your LinkedIn profile. If there is a certain role you see a recruiter working on, try and highlight that you might be a good fit for said role.
Just say something relevant and relative to your purpose in sending the email. You just need to get into the point. Recruiters have no time for long introductions. They'd appreciate you being more straightforward.
I agree with the comments above. Do not beat around the bush. Be straightforward and be clear about your purpose.
Add you LinkedIn profile, resume of course, list of relevant skills. Start with your elevator pitch.
I would just say who you are and what the purpose of yoru email is. Just be as direct as possible.
Keep it concise and relevant. No need to embellish it at all. Give them just enough information about your relevant expertise and talents to get them interested, but not too much that they lose interest.
Give the recruiter a compelling incentive to actually open and read your email by keeping it brief, original, and useful. Create your subject line based on those points after you are aware of the company's needs and what you intend to acquire from this email.
Don’t cold email recruiters.
Sincerely,
A recruiter
