Let's support local businesses this holiday season! I'm starting a thread where we can share our favorite small/local businesses we want others to know about!
Happy Holidays Everyone!
I just got word that my boss returned from vacation with covid, and he and his whole family have it. They are home, but he’s planning to come in to the office Wednesday. They got on the plane knowing they had covid, and I already feel like he doesn’t care about my well being. I don’t want to come in to work, bc I’m scared to catch it. He said it’ll be 5 days since his symptoms onset by then (Wednesday) but I don’t believe him. Do I HAVE TO come to work if I’m scared? Will insurance help?
When someone goes unlike in a 60 person hands on meeting and we hear him discussing holiday plans. 😂😂😂 and the whole rooms starts snickering #rookiemove
Hi…question for CVS workers, how many days of pto a new employee usually gets? Thank you
I feel like every time someone posts something about taking a long stint of PTO, everyone comes down and says they're gonna get fired. Take PTO, get fired. Don't, and get walked over. Yay.
Any idea is the vacation reward policy extended for this year as well? After june 2022? @Pwc AC/SDCPwC
hi all, hope all is well
i left deloitte risk advisory due to personal reasons in sep 2021 (time off since july 2021) as the work got a bit much and my situation at home was complex.
i applied for a snr consultant role in consulting (strategy & ops, indus. redesign & innov.) and saw my app. got shortlisted. this role looks more suited for me and im super interested in it, more so than my prev. exp at D but you never know haha. whats the process like/how likely will i progress?
Is it unethical as realtors working in an office to block chunks of time off for personal reasons? Some of my coworkers stay in their desks for up to 10 hours, but I've taken up the habit of blocking at least 1 hour daily for lunch, breaks, and other issues that may arise. Do you do this as well or do you prefer to work straight through your day?
How should I word the negotiation portion of the offer letter to say “I’m leaving right before my bonus, and coming on right during the busy holiday season- so I’d like a sign on bonus and to start with accrued PTO” without saying it like that?
How do you all feel about drinking at holiday office parties? I indulge, but so many say it's a no-no when you're trying to move up the ladder...
Best family vacation destination you've been to in the past year or two? Something covid-friendly but that will appeal to my wife and kids [son, 22 and daughter, 18] thanks!
What are the chances that holiday parties will be back on for 2021? I miss getting dressed up haha
This is our first holiday season in the Nashville area, any suggestions on family activities/light displays we should check out? Our kids our 8, 5, and 3.
Im completely burnt out after 2 years. Some simple tasks I complete are error filled and old strengths of mine have vanished. What should I do? Already tried a vacation and it didnt work
Aside from all the usual benefits like paid vacation time, health insurance, 401k matching program, have you ever seen a truly unique business perk?
Recent law grad here, looking for a firm job. Can others share what I should be looking for in a compensation package nowadays? What's typical and what's not? (e.g. 401k match, health/dental/vision, paid time off, vacation). And how does that change based on: small firm, midsize firm, big firm? Thanks in advance!
How does a person not get tired of public accounting always wanting more, more, more? Can’t even take a day of vacation and feel good about it. It’s a double edged sword for me because I’m very driven and career focused but damn this is always killing my vibe.

Looks like Trump will be back in 2024 with a vengeance after yet another acquittal. Will be interesting to see how it turns out without the mail-in ballot fiasco. Crazy times!
Hi, I come from a business analyst/program manager background. I want to transition in IT audit and did CISA. I’m facing rejection after rejection as I don’t have experience in audit. Can anyone please suggest how to get experience in that field as a fresher (in IT audit).
Currently at 350k cash and 100k in stock. Thinking about boomeranging, what level do I need to come in across MBB?
Could you please tell me about EPAM regarding:
1. Work environment
3. Projects and my growth
I need to decide between Nagarro and EPAM gurgaon as a Java developer.
Amex Platinum airline fee credit for United: any chance I can somehow get any credits without flying for the rest of the year? Not sure if booking flights for next year would work (need to travel in winter/spring, but it’ll be in 2021).
Best place to get sample slides for proposals?
My (male) SO has trouble having sex when he's stressed. Anything on his mind coming up later that day, or something the following day will make it hard for him to have sex.
Anyone experience this? Tips for how I can help him relax and be in the moment?
Outside of this, our relationship and sex life is strong.
Please let me know if we reject employment after accepting offer and one day before the date of Induction in Infosys would cause a blacklist in future? Thanks,
I just took over a team of three very anxious people. They are all very valuable to the company, but I also care about them as people. Does anyone have any coaching program recommendations for me to take to help my employees overcome their anxiety?
I’m not sure why but people who lie so easily terrify me. It sounds hyperbolic but I feel like they could kill me. Maybe it’s because I’m so easily burdened with guilt and struggle with being dishonest. Part of me is also envious.
Joining an MBB from a tier 2 soon, a little afraid of up or out - joining at A/AC/BA level though - any tips from other experienced hires
Do midsize firm have tax technology team?
Anyone hearing rumors about stealth layoffs?
Does the new FAM 90 day rule affects my case?

I had two technical rounds in tcs last month and now I have got the offer letter from tcs.
But I found one thing unusual that I did not have any salary negotiation call neither any hr round.
They released offer letter directly on ibegin portal with 60% hike on my current ctc .
Should I consider this as a fake recruitement.
Please let me know your thoughts.

I’m currently working with a senior level HR candidate. This individual has a doctorate in business with a focus in HR, her SPHR, Federal, and private sector experience at the singer level, and has a fabulous personality. I’m curious is anyone else having difficulties play some candidates like this? At this point I’m starting to think it’s racial or her sex based of the lack of interest in this candidate. Any thoughts?
Thinking about going into a career path in compensation (beginning as a compensation analyst). Does anyone know what the traditional path up would be in terms of title and pay? Where would my total compensation cap out? trying to get an idea of how much money I would be making 10/15 years from now.
I'm working in a company that I like, but I'm been quite underpaid. We recruited a new recruiter with a salary 25% more than the one I'm in. I've been approached by other companies, but I wouldn't like to leave, the only reason I would consider moving to a new job is the salary. Should I be open and discuss it with my LM? The formal salary review process is approaching in 2 months, but no way I could get a good salary increase in the formal process, I believe the max could be 6%-7%.
How do you negotiate more PTO after being in a company for two years? I am from overseas, and it takes me a while to travel back and forth. I currently have two weeks of PTO. Any tips are greatly appreciated.
Has anyone self- trained for SPHR or SHRM? Without purchasing the SHRM study guide? How did you decide between SPHR or SHRM SCP?
I am in the process of finishing up my MBA but considering also getting my SPHR or PHR cert. Is it even worth it or a waste of time and money?
Current contract - amazing company that has been vocal about bringing me on when approved but no promises. Contract is $60/hr. I negotiated high due to paying private health ins at high $. I was offered a role at a different company for $105K with a $5K sign on and additional benefits. I expressed my need for a $115K base in our original conversation. Anything less than 115K is a paycut from current $ and if I was offered FTE at current contract. Thoughts on negotiating? I dont want to be greedy
Hello everyone! How does your vacation policy look like? Can you share what you use to track vacation days and sick days? I work in a nonprofit organization and Im looking for something budget friendly.
Anyone use Monday.com for recruiting or onboarding? Would love to hear about some best practices!
Does anyone need a hr coordinator, or entry level talent acquisitions coordinator that is 100 remote? Remote jobs are extremely competitive and when I find job posts on LinkedIn there are already over 100 applicants. Very competitive!I am open minded about salary,I have so much interest in expanding my skills. I have about a year of recruiting in the staffing industry and 6 months as an hr assistant for a corporate/manufacturing company. MA in Hr and will be testing for phr in July. Thank you
Hello. What tools are you all using to stay up to date to the multistate HR requirements in the remote environment and handbook/policy updates? How often do you partner with a legal team to review policy updates? Company size is 300, digital agency and rapidly scaling this year. Thanks in advance!
I am hiring for Account Managers in tech sales. Was told not to progress anyone with a heavy accent as it’s hard for our older white customers to understand…
For those of you who are certified (SHRM or PHR), what was your biggest takeaway from getting your certification? How has this helped you today in your HR career?
I need to know if this makes sense…
HR generalist keeps a “DO NOT DISTURB” sign on his office door. 7 days a week for the past 4 months. Is this crazy or am I?
Our HR/recruiting department is working on what we're calling an "Attract" score. Essentially, we're wanting to find a way to measure success when it comes to time-to-fill, attrition (or lack thereof), candidate experience, etc. Is anyone using a particular "formula" to calculate this success overall, or are you just tracking it all individually?
I feel very overwhelmed with job searching…. Where do you all find these great HR jobs with flexible time off and remote work?!
If I have someone who is interested in early retirement at my company, outside of COBRA (which is only 18 months), what benefits are available for them. Are there Medical/prescription/dental/vision/etc. coverages individuals can opt into? What are the options? Low-high cost options please.

I will say, we don’t have a history of hurricanes or others across our locations.
We have an “office closure” time code which we use for things like this outside anyone’s control. Allows it to be a paid absence and not use up PTO.
Yes. We also have this.
Same as HR Manager 1 but we also offer personal leaves and 2 emergency PTO days a year.
Jury duty is paid time off, bereavement leave for those who live in your home is PTO, sick days and vacation days, and 2 personal days a year. Other than that we have no emergency days here (we do get snow days here and if the office closes we do get paid).
