What types of “time off”do you track? Curious to know what others do if someone has jury duty or has to deal with something out of their control (losing power due to weather). I have some employees who needed time off for the hurricane last week. Thanks in advance!

I will say, we don’t have a history of hurricanes or others across our locations.

like

We have an “office closure” time code which we use for things like this outside anyone’s control. Allows it to be a paid absence and not use up PTO.

like

Yes. We also have this.

Same as HR Manager 1 but we also offer personal leaves and 2 emergency PTO days a year.

like

Jury duty is paid time off, bereavement leave for those who live in your home is PTO, sick days and vacation days, and 2 personal days a year. Other than that we have no emergency days here (we do get snow days here and if the office closes we do get paid).

I just got word that my boss returned from vacation with covid, and he and his whole family have it. They are home, but he’s planning to come in to the office Wednesday. They got on the plane knowing they had covid, and I already feel like he doesn’t care about my well being. I don’t want to come in to work, bc I’m scared to catch it. He said it’ll be 5 days since his symptoms onset by then (Wednesday) but I don’t believe him. Do I HAVE TO come to work if I’m scared? Will insurance help?

hi all, hope all is well

i left deloitte risk advisory due to personal reasons in sep 2021 (time off since july 2021) as the work got a bit much and my situation at home was complex.

i applied for a snr consultant role in consulting (strategy & ops, indus. redesign & innov.) and saw my app. got shortlisted. this role looks more suited for me and im super interested in it, more so than my prev. exp at D but you never know haha. whats the process like/how likely will i progress?

Is it unethical as realtors working in an office to block chunks of time off for personal reasons? Some of my coworkers stay in their desks for up to 10 hours, but I've taken up the habit of blocking at least 1 hour daily for lunch, breaks, and other issues that may arise. Do you do this as well or do you prefer to work straight through your day?

How should I word the negotiation portion of the offer letter to say “I’m leaving right before my bonus, and coming on right during the busy holiday season- so I’d like a sign on bonus and to start with accrued PTO” without saying it like that?

Hi all,

I had two technical rounds in tcs last month and now I have got the offer letter from tcs.

But I found one thing unusual that I did not have any salary negotiation call neither any hr round.

They released offer letter directly on ibegin portal with 60% hike on my current ctc .

Should I consider this as a fake recruitement.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

I’m currently working with a senior level HR candidate. This individual has a doctorate in business with a focus in HR, her SPHR, Federal, and private sector experience at the singer level, and has a fabulous personality. I’m curious is anyone else having difficulties play some candidates like this? At this point I’m starting to think it’s racial or her sex based of the lack of interest in this candidate. Any thoughts?

The formal salary review process is approaching in 2 months, but no way I could get a good salary increase in the formal process, I believe the max could be 6%-7%.
