I job hopped for a few years until I landed at Crowe. I like the people here and the work is interesting enough.

I’ve been at Crowe for 2 years out of college. They’ve been super flexible, really enjoy the people. The raises I keep hearing about with people switching firms sometimes make me consider leaving, but I genuinely like my clients the work and the culture. Seems like a risk to switch firms/offices for more money but risk going to a new office when I don’t know what the cultures like and I’m happy here. Seems like your experience in public accounting can be heavily influenced by having bad managers/partners, bad coworkers, etc. I like the vibe so for now I’m staying

Baker tilly. Still here. Good pay. Good culture and able to pursue my passions

What firm are you referring to here? Also, can you explain what you mean by between a law firm and Big4?

Bakertilly, still here. I enjoy my work, my clients(for the most part)😆, my coworkers, work partially remote, and I have a boss that has been a good mentor. I test the waters too from time to time and so far at least I feel good afterwards because it puts into perspective everything I have.

Did you go to another company and come back?

Looking back the best place (wlb, mentorship, and career growth) I worked at was Booz Allen. I jumped around quite a bit after BAH and it’s not been the same. Take me back 😞

Lol ever ?! I think of my high school job at an ice cream shop and college job at the career center … I guess I could go back but it’d be a huge pay cut and not really have anything to do with my degree and it was more a job for my teen/college years. I think I just have fond memories of the high school one and the college one def set me up well for post grad and I had great mentors

I'm confused.
Me and wife both are in USA currently
I lost my job due to covid-19. Wife got PR and currently she also got an entry level job in canada.
I don't have work visa in canada but do have in USA.
Currently interviewing other companies in USA.
Nothing solid yet but still I found certain companies are still hesitate to sponsor visa.
What should I do ?
Should I move to Canada with wife and wait for 2 more months for work visa there ?
Or should I keep looking in USA. 🙄

This AE that I sense don’t like me keeps CCing my boss on EVERY single question she has to me… I made a mistake months ago by uploading the wrong version for check changes.. and now I feel like I’m being micromanaged by her. The ccing my boss on everything is getting out of hand. Someone was covering for her so I sent the file to that person and she then wrote me a message with my boss cced “where is there file” the cover person was on the chat too so they said “oh I have it already” 😬

I’ve made up my mind. For almost 6 years now I have wanted a Black Bay 58 and I can finally afford one. This weekend I will finally get it!

Has anyone tried KinderCare for infant/toddler daycare? How are they?

I have only been in the US for 4 years and most things I do for my 13 month old are following what other parents in our close social circle are doing. My LO right now is in kids&Co in Chicago downtown and we pay 2.4k per month.
Never heard any parents speak about KinderCare as an option. Looks like their tuition is much less and they have centers in downtown. Wondering why they are never in the list among our circle.

Hello, after doing some research I believe I’m being underpaid. About 4 months ago HR did a market analysis for my role. They bumped my salary for about $2k. I’m a mid-level Executive assistant with 6 years of experience and currently supporting 5 executives at a fortune 50 company. One C level and 4 Vice Presidents. I’m currently making $61,000 with bonus included. Based on my research I should at least be making $71,400. I have a check in with my boss tomorrow and I am asking for a raise.

Anyone leave PA to work at a firm? What’s your experience been like? Any regrets? Tips?

As a law student interested in going into the field I’ve seen a lot of negative comments saying that only lawyers who couldn’t get into big law go into PA. Although I know most people try to get into big law initially, it is very competitive and many don’t stay past 2-3 years. You certainly don’t make as much going into PA as a lawyer but the pay is certainly not bad and the WLB is generally much better. Can anyone speak to how they got into PA and if you would rather be working in Big Law
