Is it normal that as a manager I’m working 10-12 hours daily, even though it’s not busy season. It always seems as if there’s another pressing issue, and we’re perpetually understaffed.

I’m contemplating a move to the southeast, specifically Raleigh or Charlotte, and possibly SC. Is it the same down there where I can expect to work those hours at a large firm?

I like the work I do, but I feel like going private would make it easier to spend time with my family.

Industry Tax Directors and high level tax management, please share your compensation stats (base, bonus, equity), YOE, how many staff you supervise and some company details. I know I am losing ground after leaving public, but it is hard to get a handle on how far behind I am getting.

Does working on ASC 740 tax provisions for 500 hours or more allow me to apply for the audit designation on my license (so i can sign these audit reports?) I currently have the general CPA license and have no other audit experience. I've been purely a tax guy my whole career.

Deferred basis in a partnership. If I am looking to prove out the ending deferred related to an investment in a partnership is it as “simple” as taking the initial contribution and rolling in taxable income year over year for tax basis. For book basis initial investment rolling in book income year over year. Minus any distributions for both.

Just offered 85k for federal tax Senior 2 PwC. CPA. MCOL. Feel like it is pretty low considering only a 13% bump. Thoughts?
