This wasn’t in advertising, but my CEO walked up to me and said “I have absolutely no idea what you do here or what value you add to the company” and walked away. I ran the billing and payroll departments 😐
CCO reportedly said he didn’t like working with female writers. Got a guy friend to start presenting my scripts as if they were his instead. Sold a campaign and quit the next day because fuck that shit. CCO has since been relieved of his position.
The cco asked my partner and I (at the time leading campaign on a new biz pitch) to add a “4 minute birthday video for a telecom client ceo” to our workload. We had to write, direct and edit it ourselves from stock footage.
I freaked out
We were briefed to just simply refresh our concept from last year for this year's experiential assignment. We did so with some fun simple changes and plus ups but concept remained the same as they requested. Today, in our SECOND round presentation, they questioned the entire concept.
My art colleague and I looked at each other with our mouths agape. "Hate" is such a weak word for what we have.

It's never what they want! It's just that they don't want to pay for a new concept! Your account team should've done better...
Well, we're gonna end up paying for it in some crap form or another. New clients on the account so it's been a really rough learning period. Ugh.
