What was you dream job as a kid and what do you actually do as a career now?

I'll go first.

Broadway actor or a grocery store checkout clerk. Something so satisfying about scanning the items and hearing the "Beep!"

I'm a tax analyst, but gd the joy I get at self-checkout now..

Wanted to either be a princess or a judge. Actually review Excel spreadsheets, draft emails, and PowerPoints in between client calls about 50-55 hrs/week and weirdly love it. Rest assured I still judge people, just on my own time.

Truly no idea where the judge thing came from lol

I really don't remember where I came up with the idea, but I wanted to own a small really old school apothecary and spice shop with dried herbs hanging from the rafters, mortars and pestles on the counters, etc.

Needless to say, I don't do anything of the sort today. 😂

Mom's in this bowl, or anyone, do you feel like the place where you work discourages or penalizes women for getting pregnant or wanting to have children? I realized recently that most if not all of the women I work with don't have kids or have expressed that they don't plan to, and I'm wondering if that's intentional.

Etiquette question. Invited last minute to a family party (my in-laws) ostensibly for Father’s Day. Accepted invite. Shortly after, my sis in law advises that they will also be celebrating the HS graduation and birthday of her husbands nephew. Do we bring a cash gift for the young man? How much? We know the young man and like him but don’t typically celebrate holidays or buy gifts for him. He has two brothers who will be graduating in the future and don’t want to be inequitable to them.

Weaning baby now (he is four months). I have a big freezer stash and it’s in the deep freeze so it will be good until next December. Is the better strategy to constantly give baby some breastmilk every day until I run out (like 8-10 ounces a day or something, mixed with his formula) or is it better to just give formula and save the freezer stash for if/when he gets a cold or something, and then mix it in liberally only then)?
