I think the general advice is to never take the bump. They know you’re motivated to leave and money only keeps you interested so long if you really hate it otherwise. They know you’re on a timeline to go elsewhere regardless.

Left other Big 4, was offered a salary match that I didn’t take, partners had no hard feelings
I got threats that I would be burning bridges and being able to return to such a great company. Made my last day all the sweeter.
They offered to raise my salary but I told them it wasn’t just money. Was thrown a nice farewell event, no hard feelings at all
Threatened to call my new company and tell them that I was prohibited from working for new company due to a non-compete agreement. There was no agreement .
