How about comparing - If you were happy with what you were doing in your first job vs if you are happy now ?? Why so we need to always compare in terms of money and not vs happiness. Don't get me wrong..going from 15k to 2 lakh per month is really commendable ! But we do need to measure the happiness quotient too :-) Be happy always :) its not always a rat race !
+1!!!
First year salary 12000 in hand Second year salary 21000 in hand ( Switched to UST) Third year salary 25800 in hand Fourth year - no raise due to COVID-19 I decided enough is enough and upskilled myself and started giving interviews outside and got an offer for 60000 in hand. UST retained me with a promotion. Currently at Fifth year with 67000 in hand I know 12000 to 67000 for 5 YEO is nothing compared to people posting here who went from 10k to 200k in 5 years. But I'm more than happy and comfortable with what I have. As someone rightly said in one of the comments, work hard and be better than what you've been yesterday, instead of trying to become better than someone else's today. Everyone has their own clock and it runs on their own time and I'd say the clock is ticking!!!
I have never faced any insecurities until now. This is my 4th year and third account. Billable roles might have a release date but as long as your tech stack is good and you are willing to upgrade there is no lack in job security. When a resource is released from a project, they goes into the talent pool and are given opportunities to learn new tech and are also given the opportunities to get certified in the areas of your choice.
