How can we change this mindset because it’s really been weighing on me every where every ones always complaining: friends, coworkers, family, people on tv, Twitter, Fishbowl, tiktok
Would you take a new job with a 50% pay raise if you’re uninterested in the clients you’d work with? Is the money > interests at that point?
I got an offer from a PE ops team I’m content with. Should I still negotiate? Does this mean there is still more room to raise the offer given this is their first offer?
There's a lot of backstory to this but I can only type so much SO I've been with my company for 10.5 hours and just found out they've increased their base pay for starting employees $3-5/hr. I have received my annual 3-4% raises, only because I always make sure to ask for it, but nothing more. They didn't even acknowledge my 10 year anniversary with the company and it's a pretty small company (less than 100 employees). I feel I should get a $3-5/hr raise since the base pay was raised. Thoughts?
Came out of a pretty toxic work environment and therapist has basically said I have PTSD. Trying to get past it, while aiming to excel in new team but finding it hard to voice my thoughts/opinions given previous experience. Also experiencing the beginnings of burnout, caring for a 4 year old and full time work. Oh and any thoughts of promotion are truly gone...any ideas on work strategy?
Is senior promotion automatic in big 4? How do you not get promoted to senior? Do you have to be really bad not to get promoted to senior?
Got an offer within Product Ops (Mt View) for L4, 145k base, 15% bonus, 185k equity (33/33/22/12), 15 sign on. One competing offer (that is lower) and only MBB promotion to Engagement manager in a few months as leverage point. Any fish guidance on how the offer fares up / how to proceed / what comp I should push for?
Any chance of getting into M7 MBA directly from mid-tier FDD? I did 2 years in big 4 audit (including promotion) before making the transfer. End goal is IB.

Are any of you CDs that were promoted to GCDs at small to mid-size agencies where the creative department is not technically divided into groups? If so, what added responsibilities were assigned to you with the promotion? I don’t work at a large agency with the traditional pyramid structure of a GCD having multiple CDs on specific accounts reporting to him/her. I work on 14 accounts.
What is the vertical path like, in your experience, with strategists? How much time and experience needs to be earned before looking towards a promotion?
[Marketing Tech] What is a reasonable raise expectation when being promoted? Internally, I’ve seen raises range from 15%-30% for base salary. *not including bonus* and these % remain around the same for jumps between Associate->Manager->Sr.Manager Anyone have any input? Much appreciated!
Anyone have leads on a firm hiring fully remote, entry level corporate attorneys? I am a 4th year lit associate, but would be willing to start from the bottom to change practice areas and be remote, especially if the firm pays well.
Best office chair for less than $500? No major back issues but would like something more comfortable for WFH.

The PE culture is sick. The 20 something VP was rude to our partner because our team took thanksgiving and the day before off and it was in the engagement letter that we were gonna be off. He kept emphasizing that his team did our job while we were on a break. Dude we are not sick like you and we have lives. I see something about how s**t the PE culture is in every deal we support. Like these sickos make fun of us for working 80+ hours weeks for them and taking thanksgiving off.
Deloitte financial and risk advisory controllership, Grant Thornton FDD, or industry FP&A? Long term goal is to pursue MBA and pivot into strategy type of roles. Any insights are appreciated!
Recruiter for Strategy& Engagement Manager role gave base of “high 100s to low 200s” with "up to 52%” bonus for Tier 2 city (PHL, CHI, etc). Any insight into typical comp? Range given was pretty wide.
I work at a boutique (currently ~14 bankers and 10 back office roles). Joined in august. Since august, 3 senior bankers (MD / VP) 1 HR director, and now 2 analysts have left for great opportunities. To be honest I’m happy and like my role, plus it’s too early to think about switching firms already. I am now the only analyst left, we have another one joining in January. Any advice on how I can leverage this for comp discussions at the end of the year?
I recently accepted a job and its WFH (work from home) then supposed to meet in-office when it’s safe enough, but I’m not quite sure how to be disciplined enough to WFH. After speaking to my manager my position has changed to fully WFH…I turned down a different job because it was fully remote and I knew I couldn’t do the whole WFH full-time option cause I lack discipline. Any advice since I will not be full-time at home?

Anyone have cases they found very helpful when preparing for interviews? Im looking for a real challenge that’s realistic to what I’ll get on the interview day
Who here has experienced a panic attack while delivering a client presentation? How did you deal with it and any recommended remedies?
Have any of you approached your employer for reimbursement for being asked to use your phone at work? Specifically things like texting your boss while they are in court? I started a new job and am trying to set boundaries but this is one that I cannot set as it is standard practice. In our state, an employer must reimburse you if they direct you to use your personal phone for work. It seems petty, but I’m trying to (rightfully) cash in on something that I would rather not have to do.
Funniest Zoom background?
Can anyone provide examples of technical interview questions that they have been asked when seeking tax manager role?
First of all: Happy Day of Thanks everyone! For those whose employers offer “unlimited” PTO, how many days do you end up taking off per year? True days off, where the laptop and cell are stored and you have no work access.
Is it me or are recruiter douchebags? Today, I met with one to discuss a potential job offer and he was rude asf. Like, what’s up his ass haha! Maybe my salary expectation was higher than his current pay? Haha! Do you all have an experience you could share?
Does anyone have recommendations on recruitment firms that specialize in Product Management roles specifically in e-commerce?
Would it be insane to buy a 1 bd home if there’s a possibility of having a kid in the next ~3 years? Assuming we’d have to look for a 2 bd if we do have a kid and try to rent/sell the 1 bd
