My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I’ll try to bring it up with them, but I’ll say “if you want to end this feel free” so it doesn’t hurt me (and they can say what they really mean instead of sugarcoating). Someone told me today that they just assume I’m not interested because I always seem to “run” but I’m not sure how to bring up problems/feelings otherwise. How do you approach these hard questions?

Stuck working with a client I cannot stand to the point that I've seriously considered looking for a new job. The work isn't that bad but the client is rude, patronizing, and often straight-up problematic. No one does anything about it since he takes up a ton of space and projects a lot of confidence. I officially told my department’s lead EA that I was quitting and she was so rude. She told me I was immature and questioned my abilities, asking me how I thought I would succeed at my new company if I couldn’t succeed at the current one. Like ma’am, excuse me?

She also kept telling me I was the problem then turned around and asked me what they could’ve done better with EA onboarding. I told her that they did everything perfectly and I was, of course, the problem.
