Who’s doing work that you like?
Of the brands you admire, which has a distinct brand voice and what do you like about it?
Which brand needs to pivot?
Who’s doing smart things on social?
Who’s your favorite copywriter and why?
These are also questions that you should consider asking the interviewer—if they’re a Sr CW/ACD/CD.
You should also ask these types of questions based on the brand(s) you’re interviewing on. What are the successes and challenges with getting work sold in to the clients
I’m supposed to have a favorite copywriter?
For my latest role, I was asked to tell my “best story”. I’ve been in the industry a long time, and it was the first time I’d ever heard that one. It was tough being put on the spot like that, but ultimately, I think it was one of the best questions I’ve ever been asked.
