I am interviewing for a 12-month remote design contract with McGraw Hill and their cap is $55K (with benefits), though not on salary. This feels a little low to me, especially after setting aside ~28% for self-employment taxes, but it would pivot my career more into edTech which I would love. Any thoughts on what I could negotiate into the contract outside of money to help make the offer more manageable? (If I receive the offer that is, of course).

But, i still have 2 and half months notice period left in my current organization. I am consfused as why they are asking me these details now.
