I’ve built a reputation I’m proud of @ my company. I’m underpaid for what I do (started as an intern) & recently asked for a market adjustment. Management acknowledged that I’m undervalued & plans to set me up for a promotion. It’d come with more responsibility, which doesn’t align with my goals.

Is it wise for me to remain open to a promotion just for increased pay? Or should I be transparent with management about my goals (& possibly not get the pay I’m asking for)? Or any other tips?

What’s the best way to turn down a 2nd interview? During the 1st interview, I learned that the compensation for the role is not within the range that I am looking for and requires 400 more billable hours a year than what I bill now. Specialist roles aside, such as digital, when you see someone describing themselves as a “generalist marketer” is this a resume you’d pass on?
