Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?

It’s time for me to move on from my back office/CBS job at EY. I’ve been able to get through to recruiter and hiring manager screening round with FAANG employers and some tech companies but never beyond that. How can I differentiate myself when I’m probably also up against our client facing colleagues in consulting. I have about 12 years experience (7 at EY doing the same thing).

If they came to work wearing a pizza costume every day and hung out in the kitchen, acting dejected every time someone came in and got their own lunch out of the fridge.
I’ve never heard of this happening but I feel like it would be reasonable firing grounds.

We let a guy go this year because he literally could not show up to work on time while on a client engagement. It was bizarre as shit. Imagine going on a pip because of that snooze button. These kids are wild lol

1st year you may get a pass but if you have bad reviews you will get laid off.

It is also part of culture to trim bottom of the class to make room for new juniors. It is a sick part of the culture here but it is what it is!
^Had a client who couldn't make it in either! She was an engineer, and was on a Pip because she couldn't make it in before 9:30 (their culture started at 8). 30ish years old....insane. Her friend told me she didn't even stay up late....
